SOC different between car and OBDII scanner report

After considerable digging I think the reduced reading is a %age of the total battery (not the reduced amount of charge as indicated by 0-100% on the dashboard.

This image shows the output of SoC from Torque. I think embedded in there is possibly the dashboard SoC, or it needs further calculation based on the real battery availability. Will have to play.

Don't know how it hasn't come up earlier, ABRP with OBD just won't work as it is.
Looks like a very complicated formula to determine SoC when it’s readily available on a standard PID via OBD?

So recently I have started to use the integration that has been created by the community for home assistant to talk to the API of SAIC.

Cool thing here is that I made a rudimentary dashboard for the MG5 that now myself and my wife can use to operate functions of the car.
Other nice thing is that it integrates ABRP showing the live data in ABRP without having to use a ODB dongle.
down side is you are kicked out of your mobile app because your account can only be logged in on one instance.

all things considered I am not using the MG app anymore for a week or two.

Nice, how does the scheduled battery heating function work?
At the moment I have not been able yet to activate it, probably due to the high temperatures outside. I will check in a few months when it gets colder if I can activate it prior to driving without charging. The other nice thing is you can just put the fan on in the car. For after a run to let the AC de humidify. Or just to get some fresh air in.

Makes sense, iirc the manual battery heating function only works if the cell temperatures are below 10deg C..

Is the 10min timer still active on any of these climate control?

I’ve started playing with this - I’m hoping I can use Home Assistant to alert me when a charge fails (my 7kW chargers at office are a bit flaky) so I can get the breakers reset!

Care to share your dashboard code?

Last weekend i had a long drive with a bicycle rack on the back which impacts range quite a bit. The route planning in the car does not tell you where to stop for a charge with taking the consumption into account. Since i started using the SAIC integration in home assistant with a passthrough to ABRP the route planning was taking into account where to charge and with the consumption what SoC I would arrive at the charger. This is accurate and I decided to skip the suggested stop where I would arrive with 20% and drive to the next location arriving with 9%. This was accurate and also gave confidence to hammer it a bit. It uses the same SoC as you see in your instrument cluster!
