I'm going to own the MG4 Xpower soon, I've just booked a reservation for one which would arrive next month in hunter green. This will be my first EV and from my test drives with the car I liked how simple it worked and how I could simply charge it at home. There are a couple of things I'd like to do with the car maybe a year of driving the car.
Lowering. I've seen H&R springs are available and 30mm drop is more than enough for me. I've used lowering springs for years but when I do lower a car I also swap out the shocks for aftermarket ones that match the lowering springs. I've contacted H&R and they said they're designed to work with the stock shocks on the MG4 Xpower. I was hoping if anyone can shed some light on the experience of the lowering springs on this model with stock shocks. I might wait for more aftermarket availability before I lower the car.
Wheels and tires. I like to keep the stock wheels on cars but might change the compound. Availability of EV tires is pretty low in my country so I was hoping if changing to other tires would not be a huge impact on efficiency. Some cars I've owned with stock wheels I would change the tires to a slightly wider one (EG. 225/45 r18 to 235/45 r18) and add spacers (last I did was just 5mm) I'd like to know if anyone has done the same around here. Also I'd like to go up to 19 inches while still lowered but I'm not sure, I tend to enjoy the stock wheels as much as I can before I decide on getting a new set of wheels. If I do change the wheels and tires I like to get the biggest possible I could fit without fender rolling or rubbing while keeping speedo error to just +-0.5% as much as possible.
Other upgrades I have in mind would be sway bars and brakes but I understand this car is still new to the market and the aftermarket availability is not really there yet.
