So had the 4ER for 8 days and been wonderful but just been to the garage and noticed these marks on the roof.

Now certainly didn't spot them when I picked the car up and not had any issues since.

So would I be right in thinking that this is old bird dropping stains on the roof while in storage before I got my hands on it?
Seeing as I paid extra for the ceramic coating (which was part of a package deal) would of thought that would of been polished out?
Just gathering some thoughts from you so I can take the next step of either dropping the dealer an email or even getting a detailer in to the job right.

I guess the dealer did the ceramic coating. I'd either phone or drop by the dealer if possible and get them to look at it or if they are a bit reticent email head office with the photos and ask for a refund.

I wouldn't let them to correct it as they obviously don't know how to do the job properly and get a detailer to redo the whole car.

Yep my thoughts as well, just annoying!

If that was my car I would be furious!

I take it it's brand new and your the first owner?

If so, only a **** would proceed to ceramic coat the paintwork in that condition.

Is the whole car black or is that a wrapped roof, the same as on X Power?

It will polish out though as I have recently brought my roof back to as new.

I'd ask for your money back on the ceramic coating as a minimum.

You could try someting like 50%/50% white vinegar / water or a dedicated water spot remover but I doubt that would remove the marks.

Be carfeul machine polishing a black roof too aggresively as it will generate heat and it is most probably a good wrap (not paint).

I use Autoglym SRP on mine which is a fairly mild polish and has fillers for any marks but it needs doing quite regularly and topping up with spray sealants afterwards.

That's good to know. I have the early (23) Trophy with the black wrapped roof and was wondering if water stains etc could be polished out.

Emailed the dealership Sunday afternoon and first thing this morning instant reply with apologies and booked in next month with a courtesy car to boot.

I have to give them the chance to correct but if it's still there afterwards, well I'm in the dealership so can have a very long chat!

Thanks to all those who replied and some handy tips as well.
