I've not seen this issue raised before (I think) so, here goes:

2022 MG5 Exclusive LR, pre-facelift, about 14,500 miles "on the clock".

I tend to try and switch periodically to the Current Journey, Power Consumption meter whilst "on the road" to confirm that I am driving "to maximum efficiency". As expected, it changes dependent on road conditions, speed etc.

Earlier this week I was making a journey on, predominantly, A roads (so ACC set to 55) of about 20 miles. It was on one of those A roads that I observed the power meter seemed to be "stuck" on a rather low figure, about 2.5 miles/kWh, whatever the speed, road condition etc. (I'm not sure if this was also affecting the results on the Cumulative screen, I suspect it may have been.)

Pressing OK on the steering wheel to reset the Current Journey figures and, once it had "reappeared" (it seems to need the car to travel about 0.5 of a mile) it then reflected what is, for my car, rather more normal, figures of between 4.5 and about 3.6.

On the return journey the same happened.

A subsequent, very short journey, no problem.

A further, slightly longer drive, and the issue returned (and could be "corrected" by the same method).

If anyone has any ideas about what may be causing this apparent anomaly they will be very gratefully received!

I can't answer the question about how it functions but I have done some in-journey observations.
In my experience, the "real time" reading tends to be pessimistic but improves rapidly when you get near the end of the journey.

@Alb

Thanks for this.

I agree, but I am used to seeing the reading change over a comparatively short period of time (as road conditions and speed fluctuate) but this is exactly what I am not seeing now. Rather, it seems to become "stuck" on a rather low figure. :confused::confused:
