The family and I had a fantastic trip down to the Lake District this week, despite the weather doing its best impression of a miserable British “Summer”. When I pulled into the car park of The Fat Lamb Country Inn in Ravenstonedale (beloved by classic car enthusiasts), I couldn’t resist parking alongside a brand new MG3 and this beauty:

It looks tiny by comparison, doesn’t it?!

For those out and about in the area, I can recommend the Tebay Services Northbound rapid charging station. Also, out of interest I used the BP Pulse rapid charger on the way home at Harthill service station Eastbound. I was at around 40% charge after having driven for around two and a half hours and I got a maximum charge rate of 134 kW! I set the charge limit to 80% and by the time we got back from the M&S shop it was almost ready. Fastest charge I’ve ever seen.

Great pic! ??

Who says Chinese takeaways don't make you fat ? But more seriously have parking bays increased in size over the years and even road lanes? No wonder we now need LKA etc , and there's me thinking it was down to bad driving standards, perhaps the infrastructure is now not big enough to accommodate this ever expanding trend for bigger vehicles which would reduce our reaction times and lessens the possibility of avoiding collisions by our own hand by not having an escape route due to lack of available road. Imagine chasing the MG midget down a country lane , around a blind bend to be confronted by a tractor, Chelsea or otherwise, Midget squeezes down the available gap.........
Still, great photo!

I’m driving a Fiat 500 these days while waiting for my mg4 to be fixed and omg it’s tiny don’t worry if you miss the road noise, engine droning noise, wind noise, tyre noise, and discomfort, that the car for you

50 years ago I had the Austin-Healey version of the Midget. No way I could get into and out of it now! Simple car to maintain and a thrill to drive being so low to the ground. And other owners waved as you passed.
