(Might be TLDR for the feeble)
And the Universe taketh away.
Just one example from me today......
When I got into the car this morning....
A 'bong' accompanied by a yellow steering wheel icon and the message Turn Steering Wheel greeted me.
The only reason I didn't ignore it and drive off, was that the bugger would not go into gear.
Now this has happened before, but only when I have left on some steering lock.
I could swear I reversed in straight, so got out to check.
Sure enough, wheels dead ahead.
Locked, unlocked and walked around the car.
What the hell! It was then, that I noticed the old boot liner I use to cover up my log delivery, had been blown onto the exhaust pipe of my garage diesel heater.
"So bloody what" I hear you cry.
Well, before I got in the car, I had set the heater going so that the garage would be nice and toasty on my return.
I had planned on doing some work on my bike when I came back.
Now if the Universe hadn't given me a 'Bong Wakeup' I would have driven off, none the wiser.
Possible outcome being the cover melting and catching fire, which in turn might have set my wooden garage alight and with it, my motorcycle, which is my pride and joy, all my bike gear, and lots of tools and equipment.
That would have really pissed me off.
One of the benefits (IMO) of living where I do, is that I have no near neighbours.
Hence the first I would have known about it, would have been on my return some 2 hours later, when I would have been confronted by a smouldering pile of ashes, with a skeletal motorbike in amongst it all.
So the car bonging at me and making me get out, saved me from a very awkward call to my insurers.
So the Universe Giveth.
But it has also taken away today, because apparently Tesla will be kicking me (and any non Tesla) off the Superchargers (next month) until they are all contactless.
Bugger.
I can only use public chargers, so that's my price per kWh going up to 79p for the foreseeable then.
Anybody heard of this saying before?
Perhaps you know it as something else?
