Towbar options for face-lift ZS EV.

Hello,
We are hoping to be able to use our towbar mounted bike rack with our new Trophy ZS SR for summer trips.

Has anyone had one fitted to their face-lift ZS EV? if so could you let me know where and the cost please? I have been on various local and national websites including Witter and have not managed to get any confirmed prices or availability yet.

FYI I am based in East Sussex

Thanks, I know but none of the options are showing as in stock. I have submitted notify me when in stock for all 3 options but not had any confirmation yet that they are able to supply or fit the towbars, hence my post.

The detachable went out of stock about a month ago. May be worth contacting them and ask when stock is expected but they are either suffering supply chain issues or aren't bothering to restock yet due to lack of cars!

That's interesting as I thought the Witter towbars were the only approved ones for the new MG. It has a 75 Kg nose weight too and is cheaper and in stock. Do you have experience of that one with a Mk2 MG?

I had my Witter detchable towbar fitted in January. With the £25 fitting charge the cost was £657 which was then reduced because of my Camping and Caravanning club membership. My supplying dealer -Stoneacre - had agreed to pay for half of the cost as part of the car purchase deal but they have since reneged on the deal. So, Stoneacre another dealer not to be trusted. Anyway, after the fitting the car was in and out of the dealers for another fault that was present at the time of purchase - Stoneacre PDI's leave something to be desired - so I wasn't able to use the towbar until this month. But I couldn't use it because the towbar lights had failed. Whether it was something Stoneacre did when trying to fix the ongoing computer fault .....? Anyway the towbar fitter has put a replacement part on order (basically to see if the electronics in that part have failed).

Probably an obvious question, but have you tried actually phoning Witter? Their customer service is helpful, and there are times this is a much better way to get details on any stock issue, waiting times & things like that.

My local fitter says can only find Witter products available, however on backorder till end of June so will be ordering then for us.

We ordered our car with the towbar, but was told that it was out of stock so took delivery.

Have made an appointment to have it retrofitted on June 7, we will have to take the car to the MG brand garage (100 miles away) and leave it there for 3-4 hours, they say they will probably be able to fit it in that time, but ours is the first one they fit it to, due to the towbar being out of stock until now.

Price including fitting £1150

This is the full monty, we give them the car without as towbar, and we will get it back (hopefully) 4 hours later with a fully functional towbar, including the electrics.

This is in Denmark, they have a MG brand garage that does all of the PDI, on all of the cars coming into the country, including PDI, and fitting bought extra's, prefereably before people take delivery.
