MG5 Luxury
Two weeks of ownership my thoughts on the MG5 SR Exclusive.

I need to put my cards on the table. I am coming from Lexus ownership, being now on my 5th Lexus an NX300h. The MG5 is a budget car, so my expectations were not particularly high. The two-hour test drive just blew me away. The ride, power and handling were far, far better than I expected.

Now after a fortnight I am still extremely pleased with the MG5. The interior quality of the faux leather trim is very good. The controls are simple to use and the use of physical switches for the main controls is most welcome. There are parts of the car that show it is in the budget sector but for value for money it beats most other EV vehicles, especially second-hand. Bluetooth Car Play works really well. I am intending to charge the car today, for the first time.

It is our second car and I have insured my daughter and son-in-law to drive. My daughter too it for a 50 mile round trip. Her comments were – “You have made a cracking choice Dad – it was a lovely drive and ride. My goodness it can shift!”

This car makes so much sense on every level, especially practicality. Early days yet, but I am more than pleased with my decision. The advice I have been given on the forum has been extremely helpful – thank you.

I am sure you made a great buy, 3 years on I am still delighted with my MG5 Exclusive in red
If you are lucky enough to charge at home it makes even more sense at less than 2p per mile !!!!l
(using octopusGo intelligent and my zappi2 charger).
I am also lucky to have a good MG dealer who has always been helpful.

I too have the luck of dealing with a fantastic main dealer, I charge from home as well but as we pay foe electricity by direct debit ( octopus) there effectively is no additional fuel cost as there was with ICE cars. My electricity is valuated yearly and as charging the car does not cause a massive spike in our usage the car costs are within our normal household outgoings
