Given the MG3 Hybrid is a little rocket ship off the line on battery, I was wondering about the wear on the front tyres. Has anyone reached the point where front to rear tyre rotation has become a good idea? I doubt this is a normal MG service action, but correct me if I am wrong, and besides they will only see it annually. What sort of kilometres/miles (if that's your domain), can we log before rotation is deemed a good idea.

To avoid the bomb shell of changing all four tyres, I'm normally content to leave it as a service item, but will be influenced by wear rather than mileage. If the tyres are heading for 3mm, I will change them for new tyres as I'm not a fan of the 1.6mm limit. If the rears have around 5mm and the fronts on 3mm, I will move the rear to the front and stick two new ones on the rear in line with what most tyres manufacturers will recommend. Having said that, I'd be keen enough to change out all four of these standard fit tyres, as they are the weakest link in the handling equation.

I've never done it on any vehicle in my entire life including commercial vehicles and my many motorhomes, I change as and when required even if I only need one tyre, and 1.6mm is fine for 99.9% of our normal driving.
