My car was due it's first service, so when I booked it in I asked for the sunroof leaking to be fixed, which they agreed to do. During the service I also had the BMS update. When I collected the car I was told that they could not do the sunroof as after discussing the issue with MG they were told that the sunroof may require replacing. They were not able to book me in until the middle of March!!! and then it will have to be with them for a week.. All of my anger could have been averted if when I originally booked it in for the service they had told me that a separate booking would be required, once again I feel let-down by MG services and in particular Richmond of Southampton.

Re the BMS update, I charged the car on my 'Granny' charger overnight and this morning showed a voltage 450V and a rang of 132miles, it was -1c. So looking OK sofar.

Good news on the 450v. (y)
I wouldn't get too upset with the dealer over the sunroof, after all it's not their fault it's leaking, it's the manufacturers, the dealer is the middle man. The dealer would need a cursory look at it to start with anyway and may have been able to fix it by some adjustment, but they wouldn't know until they'd looked and a complete sunroof is not something they would stock as it's not a regular item that goes wrong. :)

The water seems to fill the overhead consul from which the water slowly drips out. when I am driving and go around a roundabout quite a lot of water flows out onto the passenger - I am getting used to the loud shouts of complaint.

I understand that an initial observation of the problem would take place but I was informed during booking in for service that the car would have to be returned for the sunroof to be looked at.

I wonder if it’s a simple fix, could it be that one of the drain holes is blocked??

I don’t think you should reasonably be expected to continue to use a car in that state.

@PeteJ , can’t you open the sunroof and look for anything obvious? Maybe try trickling some water around the rim of the aperture to find the source of the problem. Sometimes it helps to do some of the investigative work to steer the dealer in the right direction. I know you shouldn’t have to do this but if it saves your sanity so be it.

I have tried cleaning the edges of the glass and the surround, spraying the roof with water but could not replicate the leak but later found that the consul inside had filled with water.

Try putting some water in the corners of the gulley when the sun roof is open, gradually moving towards the centre of the opening until water is seen.
