Hello everyone,
I broke my usb port : the only one to use for CarPlay (and also to update the car system).
I asked to my reseller a quotation to change this part : the response is 3000€. For the mechanic, you have to change all the electrical harness of the car, because MG did not segment the electrical harness. The part is 1700€. And you need to do a complete dismantling of the interior (dashboard, seat, etc;)).

The price is too high for only one USB port.

Do some of you already change a USB port by yourself in your MG ?

Thanks a lot.

Thomas, from France. (sorry for the translation :) )

Also check the relevant fuse. Unlikely to fix it, but it's an easy fix if it does.

My wild guess is that the USB connector broke its solder connections. Possibly due to flexing, or it might have been a factory fault resulting in (a) cold solder joint(s). This could be fixed for a few cents excluding labour if you can get to it and have the skills and equipment. A few Euro if you need to replace the USB socket.
