Just reading through this thread and here my take on it I did look at various V2L Adapters that are fast becoming available from many outlets, I was about to order one from EV cables a 5mtr long cable with a double outlet on the end of it just a rubber open socket with no protection from weather a or anything else.
When I took everything into account the price postage the product, it worked not that much under the price of the dealer approved product price. I say a not much it was around £68 extra for one from the dealer, but for that £68 extra I was getting the same cable length 5mtrs, but on the end of that cable is a solid chunky double socket in a fully waterproof enclosure which is also RCD protected, I know somewhere on here somebody said you can get a socket like that from screwfix for around £25 true, but there’s another reason for buying the manufacturer approved product which is if something was to go wrong with one of those cheap imports, or a home made job which I could do no problem, and it was to damage the electronics in the vehicle in some way, a none approved V2L cable would to so easy to be blamed for what could be a very expensive repair, maybe even a fire so £68 is a cheap piece of mind in my view.
Call my mad or stupid or whatever you like but I’m as safe as I can be if and when I use V2L on our car.
