Arrived yesterday and tried out today.....by cutting the front lawn. And then it occurred to me that it was 7p per kWh electricity....hmm might use it more often!
It does make you think a bit differently when you realise how much mains power you have at your disposal. I was camping at a festival this year and took a small induction hob and a kettle and my son brought along an electric pizza oven.

They used to be a lot cheaper - mine was £10 + £3.99 delivery on eBay. I’d prefer one of the proper type two ones with with sockets on a lead but for how infrequently I use it - not worth the expense.

I’ve got one of the covers so should there ever be a lengthy power cut I’d be ok with an extension even if it was a bit moist out. Last year was off for 12 hours after a summer lightening storm - much longer and the bigger backups like this would have to come out for fridge / freezer etc. Batteries and an inverter to keep a few bits alive (security light, phone and internet - phone signal lasts 20mins in a power cut here).

Biggest load I’ve plugged in is a George which has a 1.1kw motor as I recall. It’s great to have a real Hoover anywhere in the car though.
