I’m thinking of having a wall charger installed & as my electricity is delivered by Eon, I’m thinking of the Eon Wallbox Max.
Does anyone have experience of this?
Is this something he way to go or should I be looking at a different supplier?
Any advice gratefully received

By Eon Wallbox Max I guess you mean the Wallbox Pulsar Max. I have no experience of that variant, but I've had my Wallbox Pulsar Plus for well over 2 years ... still working fine.

I tried a Wallbox Plus for a while but I had to add a wifi extender as it needs a strong wifi signal.

Good point ... I did likewise.

Of course you can also connect via Bluetooth ... having a WiFi connection just makes it easier to connect to the charge point via the Wallbox app whilst you're further away. (I'm not sure if the charge point uses the WiFi to automatically download and apply firmware updates, or whether this is managed via the app).

Get a quote from your local EV wall charger installer to compare prices.

You also need to ask yourself a few questions.
Are you going to get solar panels sometime in the future?
Are you going to get a home battery sometime in the future?
Might you switch to Octopus Intelligent in the future?

If you answer yes to any of those you'd be better off going for a different wall charger.

Thanks everybody. Useful comments.
I have already got solar and battery, does this have a big influence on any decision?
Yes if you want to charge your car from solar. You'll need to check that whatever charger you get can do so.
Also if you do fancy changing to one of the intelligent tariffs (Octopus Intelligent for example) you'll need a compatible charger as the MG4 isn't.

I bought an Ohme Home Pro as it’s compatible with intelligent go. Since learned it’s now been upgraded for solar too so that’s a bonus. Another benefit is it uses 4G instead of WiFi so no location/coverage issues. Very happy with the charger and Octopus. Ohme app does all the things the MG can’t and easy to use. Seems fairly future proof as far as the planned ownership of the car goes!
