Hi All,

Im in the process of purchasing ZS EV Trophy 2023 long range, registered June 23, from a non MG dealer, the car has 4000 miles on it. I have asked about when it was last serviced, to which I was told, they have done health checks but didn’t want to so a service as it would void the manufactures warranty.

Checking on the MG website it says their warranty is void if a service has not been done within 28 days of being due.

I am not sure where this leaves me should I continue with the purchase?

Does the fact the service was missed is because the car was with the dealer mean it’s ok? As long as the first service is done following purchase at an MG dealership?

One of the main selling points was the lengthy warranty.

any advice welcome.

Many thanks

where did that car come from with 4,000 on the clock and non-MG dealer? and service would void warranty? Why? Because MG garage would discover something that would void it ? Not sure it's worth risking it, plenty of stock at the moment from MG dealers and you can certainly get them cheaper than advertised. Tell them you'll buy it if they service it (yes, has to be annual service despite mileage) and have written confirmation from MG that it's still under warranty.

The only way I would buy that is if it's half price of equivalent from a MG dealer. I risked buying mine second-hand but I bought it for a very good price from a major UK non-MG dealer so I had about 6 months of security if something went wrong ... How much is that car?

Thanks for your advice all, it’s £21k
Far too much money to risk with dodgy sounding dealer, although the car might be spotless I would be very very cautions with that one ...

Don't take my word for it but I'm sure you can find a nice car from MG dealer for that money. Check prices on as many websites as you can, I have seen some adverts on CarWow for new (old) stock for £10K less than RRP which should be very close to £21K if not even less... Search nationally, it could save you quite a lot of money
