I'm sure I'm not on my own here, but I now have about 7 EV charging advice apps and 2 map apps on my mobile that I seem to constantly look at for charger point locations and operating status.

But I'm getting confused about the type and quality I am being provided.

For instance, on my way back up the A9 last week (mentioned previously on other threads!) the ChargePlace Scotland App showed 2 locations in Aviemore.
Whilst charging at one of them, I took a stroll to find the other which appeared to be located in the Scandinavian Village Complex. I walked round the whole site, appearing a bit dodgy and watched by quite a few holiday makers, and saw absolutely nothing. It looks like there's NEVER been a charger there. If it is there, it is very discretely positioned.

I advised ChargePlace Scotland and got a nice email from Google maps the next day saying that they were going to remove the questionable reference.

So, what do my colleagues consider to be the best apps? I realise that current relevance of info depends on good input from the charge point users, but it would be good to see what good and bad points each app offers, please?

I tend to use Zap-Map as the main program, but then Polar Plus and Pod-Point and my secondary apps. I have found Zap-Map pretty good to be honest.
That said when using Andriod Auto on route you can use the voice function and say “electrical charging points” and it will show you points along your route.

What's the inbuilt nav like for showing charging points ?

To be honest I always use google because of the live traffic updates incase of accidents and roads closures, that said I have seen some charging information on the inbuilt navigation, but not sure how you access the info.
I will have a play as it’s useful to know as a backstop incase something goes wrong with the phone...

I was fiddling about with the nav last night and found you can add charging points to the map and you can also add shops, so I put Tescos on as there seems to be a lot of Tescos with free charging, most are only 7kWh but that gives you another 25 ish miles for an hours shopping, for free

Open the nav and select the hamburger (menu) in the bottom right corner of the screen and scroll through the menus/sub menus.
