What is one pedal driving like?

Hi,

I've never driven an EV as yet, but I'm very keen on ZS.

I know that it's not quite One Pedal driving, but when on regeneration 3 setting do you find that the car behind fills the rear view mirror as I assume, the brake lights don't come on to warn them and it slows much quicker than the expected ICE

Understandable, but that’s the fault of the driver behind for driving to close..or for not allowing enough time to react.

Hopefully related to the above question: If you feather the throttle whilst in regen 3 does it still generate electricity ? I assumed the motor can only do one thing at a time drive or generate.

When it drops in to the actual regen zone you can feel the breaking effect charging the car.

On my test drive, when applying the brake lightly, I found the changeover from regen to friction brakes was quite noticeable, pressing the brake pedal at slow speeds seems to let go of the regen braking quite suddenly.

It’s just getting used to it and getting a balance like with a clutch and accelerator.

Also, when the car has been in the wet and you park up.....the next time you use your brakes there is often a slight film of rust on the disc, which can make the brakes feel as if they are 'grabbing' ..for the first few applications...this is common on all cars..with disc brakes.
