I am just now getting used to my car, and I was just curious what everyones charge range is, and what you consider to be best for battery health/life?

Currently my thinking is letting is get down to 40% or 50% then charge up to 80% and repeat then build in a 100% charge every couple of months? We do very little mileage usually comfortably below 4000 miles per year.

I've had a scan of the manual but I couldn't find anything definitive.

During the recent cold temps here I've seen around 150-175 mile range on an 80% charge in my Trophy. However I balanced charged to 100% yesterday and I had a range of 237 miles, presumably due to the warmer temperatures.

I do a similar yearly mileage to you at the moment, and I charge to 80% once a week, then do a 100% balance charge maybe once every couple of months. Can't comment on my batteries SOH though, not sure how to measure that.

Thanks for this. I am planning to ask my dealership for a printout at services (next one is due in December), or maybe get a ODB dongle to check it.

I charged mine to 100% on Wednesday night as I was going on a long trip on Thursday, it was then indicating 250 miles in Eco mode. At my destination it was reading 62% for a mileage of 102.7 miles, the mls/kwh were 4.3. mainly due to the milder weather.
The previous occasion I charged to 80% and it read 196 miles in Eco mode. Back in February during the cold I recorded 158 miles at 80% on the GOM. Now it's back up to around 190 miles for 80%

I usually run it down to 30 before charging to 70-80%. Yesterday I let it do a balance at 80%, Ive just returned from a short trip and its showing 75% 194 miles.

I do 6k a year and do exactly what you are planning on doing with no issues.

Asking what range people get is a bit of a mixed bag. The reason I say this is it really depends on your driving style and type of trips you do. I live in the middle of London and London traffic is terrible for range. Once I get out of central London town I see a massive improvement.

I've had my TLR for 2 weeks now and have covered just under 900 miles. This week, with the temperature rising, it's currently 14 degrees, I've seen a noticeable improvement in range. I was getting an average of 3.5 m/kWh, this has now improved to 4.5 m/kWh and that's with 75-80% being motorway miles. Just charged to 80% and the GOM is indicating 222 miles.

Thanks for your input 😊, I'm not necessarily asking about range, more the charge range % if that makes sense. My car has done around 60 miles and has used 36% (was delivered with 92% charge) but that's because I've been sat in it changing settings and trying the stereo etc with the AC on.

Ah gotcha :-)

For real quick maths I always go on 2 miles per 1%. But this is always on the safe side. As others have mentioned once the weather warms up you will see a big improvement.

I am 2.5 ish years in to ev ownership and have finally started to worry less about range on daily usage. Only on long road trips do I still over think it a little.

According to the onboard calculations I'm getting around 3.6 MLS/KW after all of my driving. Just today for 15 miles I did 4.2 but obviously that's a very short journey.

That's what I do. Remember to leave it on charge once it has reached 100% until it has finished balancing the battery which could take anything from 15 minutes to nearly 1 hour depending on when it was last done. I usually do it just before I'm going to do a 30+ mile drive so it's not sat at 100%.

thats a great idea, thanks!

I also do about 4000 miles a year. I only use a granny charger and get 7 hours cheap rate electricity overnight.
When the battery gets down to about 60% I charge overnight.
This gives me about 20% approx 50 miles.

I just charged my battery upto 80%, and for around 45 mins afterwards the zappi was showing 0.2kwh usage but the car (via iSmart) was showing as charging but using 0.0kwh. Is this a sign it was balancing?

The battery pack will balance at the target charge level of charge selected, for a long range (NMC) pack 80% being the recommended. It will also balance at other levels too.
Typically the charging power reduces considerably when nearing the target level until it says "not charging" on the iSmart app when achieved. Then if balancing is taking place short bursts of power can be seen (if the display on your charging process is reactive enough, and too on the iSmart app you can see it modulating at low power) Another indicator that balancing is taking place is when the finishing time on the iSmart app keeps on updating showing the current time instead of being fixed.
