Just got my car back from its first service.

I did a 5 min drive on the motorway on the way back. There was noticeably a vibration going through the steering wheel once I got above 65mph. At lower speeds there isn't anything noticeable at all.

During the service they did have the wheels off to check the brakes.

Problem is I've only had that 5 mins and won't get another chance to test it for a few days. And the garage are going to call today to check evening is okay.

Is this an issue anyone has heard of before? There's also a chance I was imagining it..

Sounds like you lost a wheel weight and one of the wheels has become unbalanced. That would probably be the first thing to check anyway with a vibration that comes at a certain speed and disappears again when you slow down.

I would mention it when they call you, even if they dismiss it at first, at least you mentioned it right away.

Thanks for that. Yes reading about it, it does seem like a wheel balancing issue. At least if the garage isn't interested it's not too difficult to get someone else to do it - just a bit of a faff.

Also worth checking the tyre pressure. Mine has come back sometimes with the wrong pressure causing vibrations in the steering wheel and peddles.
