Is there a reason why there are so few Extended Range MG4's for sale?

Number for sale on Autotrader of different models is...

Musing whether it is because;
a) the ER was too expensive to buy new ?
b) lots have been made and sold and they're so good that no one is selling them ?
c) they're a bit faster, so insurance is £££ ?
d) all of the above?

I think that sample size is a bit too small to be statistically significant ... 38 ER vs 54 XP would likely fall into that same statistical "bucket" - even the 68 SE LR may do so too.

Basically, the SE SR and Trophy LR have been the bigger sellers so there's always going to be more of them on the 2nd hand market.

Initially it was the same price as the XPower and so many people went for performance over range.

Long range is really a rare case in the UK in terms of a necessity (though often people's fears demand range if they are new to EVs).

Latterly XPower had bigger and huge discounts, so I guess that has helped too.

Also there are practically zero demonstrators, so most people are only going to know about it if they do their research or the dealer guides them to that as the best fit.

The old Trophy long range came with 17 inch. ER has always been 18 inch and some posts suggest due to similar brakes as the xpower a 17 inch does not fit.
That inch does make a difference in fuel consumption at similar speeds. The other thing is car weight. It is close to 100kg heavier so it is a bit more 'obese'... so I can understand the preference for the smaller battery versions.
But it really depends on how you use the car. I tok the ER because I knew I would be able to do two working days without charging. With the 64 I would have to charge every day.
And btw, it is a seriously quick car if you go full beans:)
