Why wont MG recognised external cd players?

As my own car , renault 2024 capture e hybrid is still at the dealers, I'm now on my 3rd hire car. 1st being a Mercedes gla 200 had 6 usb c all recognised my expensive ext cd player . I then had my first MG ZS trophy hybrid. It has 1 usb port , the rest are usb c ports which turn out to just be power ports. The only usb port does not recognise my external cd player, seem it only accepts usm memory sticks, useless as I would have to get all my cd collection (145) onto usb sticks . Which is not feasible. Or is it that mg only intend selling their cats to 30 somethings???

Basically because I've this issue I would have to remove all MG cars from my list of cars to replace my renault.

Surely a 1 terabyte solid state hard drive could easily hold all your cds and the car will see it as a usb drive
