Hi all.

My S20 charger socket doesn't really like cables, so I was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations on a Wireless Android Auto USB adapter? There's lots on Ebay and Amazon, but at massively different prices. Don't want to overpay if a cheap one works.

Anyone had any experience with them and could recommend one?

Not Ebay or Amazon but I bought this one from Ali Express a couple of months ago and it works perfectly in my pre-facelift MG5 LR. Always connects as soon as I and my phone are in the car; I don't even need to have the phone physically in my possession. e.g., it connects from the boot!

Hi Ian

Did you have to set any delay like the carlink requires and is all still OK with this?

I need to order one and this is top of my list ATM.

Thanks
I just plugged it in and followed the instructions for the first use. After that it connects to my phone in about a minute.

I tend not to leave it plugged in to the car as it seems to stop the USB socket switching off but even plugging it in every time I want to use it it connects with no problems.

Remember to plug it in to the left-hand USB A socket.

Oh, I'm not going to unplug it every time, what's the issue with leaving it plugged in, I guess it doesn't use much power?

I don't like the position of the USB ports, they aren't the easiest to get to, I use a one of these to fast charge my devices.

I don't use AA all the time but when I do it's easier then getting my phone out of my pocket and plugging it in via a cable and then finding I've left my phone in the car when I get out.

It's just my personal preference. I'm allowed to be different ? It's a free country ?

Yes tsedge, to me that is part of it.

I use AA all the time, I also found the on board assistant in the MG4 to be rubbish on my test drive. I admittedly haven't tried it in my new car, which may have been updated but I'm used to AA and use Google Maps religiously.

Also slow charging doesn't do it for me, on those occasions where I am going out for the day I need my phone completely charged So use a 12V adapter to supply PD voltages, oh and PPS support for Samsung.

I just want a device that works when I get in every time, I will use the wireless charging if I'm local and the cabled adapter if I need to boost my phone battery.

The 12V adapter is also useful for charging tablets for my grandson and laptop for Mrs Carmichael when shes going to work and I'm tagging along to go play.
