Hi, all thanks for reading this. Had a bump in my mg4 se, damage is nothing g really but the vehicle won't start or move, I have been informed there is like a cut off switch that can be reset. Does anyone know where this is please, need help fast. Thank you

I hesitate to offer the normal options for overcoming fault situations like locking/unlocking, negative battery connection removal and replacement because I am not a trained MG Technician.

The manual says that in the event of a crash the air bag system triggers the disconnection of the HV battery. It also advises disconnection of the LV battery negative connection, presumable to stop any errant relay actions. But this seems to refer to a serious crash.

@Kwills81, I hope the AA have come and sorted your car. If you are still waiting can you answer a few questions to add to the database of knowledge. Please do not answer if you are not in a safe situation.

a. How serious was your crash, eg rear-ending someone or being rear-ended, side crash, airbags deployed etc.?

b. You say the dash is powered, do you mean both the infotainment screen and the driver's display or one and not the other?

c. Do you have any warnings on the driver's display, eg. Power battery cutoff warning - image of multiple batteries with line through it or exclamation mark?

d. With you sitting in the driver's seat with the seatbelt plugged in are you saying that the car will not go into ready mode when you put your foot on the brake?

e. What does the Safety page of the Car screen on the infotainment display says about the power status? (This page has a power off slide switch that, effectively, shows HV battery ready status. It usually moves across left when you put your foot on the brake after you have powered down the car by sliding/tapping it to the right.)

Thanks in advance.

The 12v battery is disconnected, think I will be OK to reconnect that, to be honest the damage looks alot worse than it actually is, yeah it's not going to be cheap, if any parts are available let me know. All I want to do is get it moving for 10 mins to get it in my garage, which is to the rear of my house, I could tow it really slowly to the garage but I wouldn't be able to get it in as its up hill slightly and there is no chance of pushing. Temporary get it going the disconnect and make safe till I can get parts to fix it.

Once it's safe in the garage I can decide what to do with it, repair or sell or maybe maybe sell parts if the demand would get my money back

Thanks very much for replying. I hope I never see the warnings on your driver's display.

Others have more experience with repairs and parts and I hope they advise you. There is a thread where someone gave a commentary on the repairs to their car. Search for 'Mulan' in thread titles.

Once again thanks for letting the Forum know what has happened and let us know how you get on.

Update, been a while. Well she now moves, put resistors (amazon) in all the airbag plugs, had the airbag module reset and there you go. Hasn't even got a warning light on the dash. I believe it would work with out the resistors and it would just throw an airbag light on. Safely in the garage now, ready to repair. Anyone out there have any parts, please let me know, 👍
