Would an MG5 be a good fit for me?

60 a day is nothing, you'll do fine in the standard range. I was doing average 200 a day often up to 250.
Get yourself a home charger and you'll hardly ever have to visit a public one.

Hi everyone,

I'm coming to the end of the PCP for my (71 reg) Dacia Sandero, which is the bi-fuel model. This really helps me keep costs down, as I do around 18k miles a year for my job. Sadly, it's getting much harder to get hold LPG where I live (and the price has doubled in three years) Also, I was quoted £550 for the 3rd service today, that's the final nail in the coffin!

Also the current model I have has gone up by £4000 in three years, so I doubt I'd be able to buy another one (and keep the monthly payments under £200 per month)

I have been thinking about a three year old electric MG5 estate. I'm just a bit worried about doing lots of miles with a 2nd hand EV car. Are these solid buys?

I've also heard that sourcing parts for the MG5 is a bit difficult. Is this true? Is the servicing expensive?

And has anyone found fitted home chargers for a good price? I'm with Octopus if that makes any difference.

Many thanks in advance

71 LR Exclusive from new. We do about 15k a year, down from 20k initially so now at 40k. It's worked for us only because we do local miles and have a home charger (Ohme Pro) with Octopus Intelligent tariff. We've saved about £3k+ on fuel through home charging. If we relied on public chargers then it wouldn't make it an attractive proposal. Mind you we've probably lost around £20k on depreciation as these cars have taken a huge hit on prices!

That's good to know, thanks. Have you had any problems with your car?

Only just seen your reply. Inside tyre wear on rear tyres after about 30k miles. The infotainment system reboots occasionally. Washer pipe to rear window that runs up front right A pillar detached. Huge depreciation from new! We've had a ridiculous number of tyre punctures that we've not experienced with any other car but I suppose that's chance rather than fault as tyres have been changed. In fact just changing tyre now after puncture three months after last one .
