Hello!

I've noticed that my ZS EV long-range can apply the brakes while in cruise control to slow down when I go round a bend, even if there are no cars in front of me. I see the logic, as it thinks I'd lose control if I take a corner too quickly, but it's far too sensitive in my opinion. There's been a few times when a car behind me has had to take evasive action because my car braked unexpectedly. There's also the real risk of this braking making me spin when I'm driving in wet conditions.

Because it's a safety feature, I doubt I can switch it off completely, but does anyone know if there's a way to adjust the sensitivity?

Thank you, and I'm glad to have found a forum dedicated to MG EVs!

No way of adjusting it. Simple answer is to override it with the accelerator pedal, but agree this is not ideal.

I’ve lowered the sensitivity of lane assist and forward collision management to minimum (low) and accepted, under current software, the majority of driving needs to be done by me As opposed to the computer. Hoping an OTA or patch will provide a better result in the future.

Tesla Bjorn has covered this subject on the ZS EV facelift when driving in Europe I believe ?.
He talks about this subject and remarks that all Chinese cars do this, but the ZS EV facelift, handles it better than any of the others.
He has witnessed this on other manufacturers cars also.
You would expect the cars in Europe to be configured the same as the UK models ?.
I will try and insert the video below.

As I see it you have a couple of options.
1) don't use CC on twisty roads, it's set up to be used on motorways and dual carriageways.
2) try setting it to a slower speed (not sure if that will lessen the effect)
3) override it with the accelerator.
As far as the person behind is concerned, they should be paying attention and shouldn't be travelling so close as to take evasive action when you slow down, unless you actually stopped.

I noticed this but assumed it is the radar noticing the hedge, fence or buildings at the edge of the road? If so, it would be diminished by lowering the sensitivity of the radar which I believe is possible. However, the issue doesn't bother me much.

Bjorn is great fun to watch.
He reached a point about two years ago, when he gave up his day job and was able to earn a very good living from You Tube etc.
I don’t blame him one bit !.
It’s there for everybody, if you have a talent / subject that somebody is prepared to watch on a regular basis, then you’re sorted !.
Find content for regular uploads must be hard though !.
His EV knowledge is vast and the manufacturers understand that a good or bad review of their car, can be a sink or swim the model on the spot !.
He reaches SO many people now, but is not scared to say what he thinks.
If the car is “Shhhhiiiiiiittttt” he will say so, his views are totally unbiased and free from any pressure being applied by the manufacturers.
I also like how he will test the cheapest EV on the market, then jump into the most expensive EV made on the following video.
Great to see how his old Tesla S is holding up also ?.
