TBA . . . Any fans of Father Ted will know Father Jack's rants. I'll let you fill in your own expletives. (my thoughts are; a small bird which likes peanuts, what you need to play tennis, and the part of your body you sit on.) :)

I wonder if Vanarama have the same contact at MG UK and get the same response as we do or if they get a more honest version: -

Sorry but there has been high demand for the MG ZS and whilst we are able to supply additional stock cars for our preferred dealers, you will have to wait even longer.

If you are not happy waiting then why not cancel your order with the agreed lower prices and we can sell you a stock car for immediate delivery from one of our preferred dealers at a higher cost. Alternatively we could order you a new one for more money without a sunroof.

Orders for new cars are only 4 months ( which is obviously a lie and you will actually have to wait over a year)

We currently estimate a delivery time of 9 months, but this could change, and if you ask next month we will say 10 months. This estimation is based on absolutely nothing as we have no clue what SAIC are manufacturing but it makes us feel better to say something instead of nothing and at least you get a bit of hope.

Try contacting your dealers in the next 2 months when they will be able to inform you absolutely nothing. If it makes you feel happy then why not ask them to make something up for you. They could promise you a December delivery which will not materialise because we are fulfilling orders to other countries that we like and have better profit margins with.
That’s given me a good chuckle! Thanks

Well, hopefully something a little more positive...

I had two missed calls this morning from Perry's Aylesbury, followed by a text message saying my #teamblue TCLR ordered mid-December has been updated on the system from TBA to a delivery date of early October...???

Got my fingers crossed for you and hope it arrives as per the information given.

Am amazed that they can give you a delivery date. The above information means that they know SAIC are going to run the production line for your car in early August.

It will be interesting if your status starts to change in the next few weeks - “in build”, “awaiting dispatch”, “at sea” etc.

The other interesting point is to see when they update the chassis number so your dealer can register the car?

Please keep us informed so we can follow your journey.

If your order from December is early October, then my early January order may be delivered in November?

I wouldn't count on it!

I am pretty much resigned to 12 months given that's the number they were giving before they closed orders and TBA was the line.

My January order I'm not expecting this year.

For those pending Vanarama orders, apparently they did receive a small batch of ZSs (first lot) which was unexpected and are hoping they are now coming on board.
That’s interesting to hear! Did you get that info from Vanarama? They definitely don’t have a clue what’s going on!

New to forum
Ordered mg zs trophy last week dealer told me I would get it oct/Nov this year. Reading this thread that’s a lie
Unless it's a cancellation, fleet car, or a stock order they've been allowed to keep, then don't hold your breath. There are people still waiting since November, so it'll be ages coming unless you're lucky. The last update I had from MG said 8-9 months from order date. If you work on that basis, it'll be a nice surprise if you receive it earlier.

And be sure to know your spec; a pre-July Trophy will include a pan roof, from 1st July onwards it'll loose the roof but have tinted rear glass & Connect services.

Yes was told that my order wouldn’t include the sunroof

Hi all, like a lot of you we ordered a Trophy in Black Dec 2022. Small dealer in Tunbridge Wells knows nothing and MGUK are telling us to talk to our dealer. Incredibly frustrating.

The thing I'm now getting concerned about is an increase in price and the £2500 EV grant not being honoured. Has anyone found any online government mention that they will honour ev grants from the time of order for manufacturer delays and how long they will do so? Dealer keeps telling me that's safe and accounted for but trust is a little low tbh. The main reasons I'm now holding on are this and price. Anyone experienced price increases from order as I know other manufacturers are doing so, like Mercedes for example.

What is forum members' opinion on whether orders through lease companies come before private orders?
based on fact/hearsay/guessing
