15 minutes will not mess up other electrics or mileage etc?

No - Disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery, has the same effect as pulling the supply feed on the info unit and resetting it.
It has effectively frozen / glitched the unit and needs a hard reset.
Sometimes pressing and holding down the power button on the head unit for about 15 seconds will reboot the system, but a complete hard reset requires the power supply to the module disconnecting.
You MAY lose your saved / stored radio stations.
A complete battery disconnect on the ZS EV will cause the TPMS readings to be lost, but they will relearn and return when you make your next trip.
It takes about 5 - 10 miles for the car to relearn the tyre pressure readings, when the car is driven.

Try the 12 volt disconnect, leave 15 mins and reconnect.
It works on the same principle as disconnecting the radio module.

The 15 minutes battery disconnect did not work. it still saying initialize.

Well that’s surprising, now I think it’s time for a visit to your dealer because as I said earlier in this thread it could be a faulty unit and needs changing sorry can’t be of more help than this.

The module probably needs unplugging because of residual current?
That's probably why the mechanic go to the effort of removing glove box to upplug and doesn't go for the battery?
The head unit recognise unit is unplugged then when repluged starts new handshake clearing fault

How do you take the glove-box off on MG5. It is not like the ZS EV video

To be honest I think it would be exactly the same as disconnecting battery all your doing is cutting power to it
