Unfortunately the motor on ours needs a rebuild so they said they will replace the car but from the next shipmentI'm keeping my fingers crossed it's just an overfilling mistake and not a more serious problems
I don't think they will no to be honest you have to do 100 miles or so to no if it leeksI'm going to ask about this tomorrow when I go for my test drive appointment.
? Sorry to hear you have this leak as well, but it sounds like your dealer is taking care of you well. Likewise, I hope it’s a simple fix.Well, after reading this thread I thought I had better stick my head under the back of our one week old MG4 SE LR and check. Sadly there is a definite leak, a few drops on the ground, evidence of seeping out of the undertray and being 'blown' rearward across the bottom of the car. My best guess 'finger test' is that it is thin oil rather than coolant.
Top marks to our dealer though. Following a phone call, car immediately booked in for inspection tomorrow am. Dropped it off tonight and home with a MG5 loan car.
Fingers crossed it is nothing too serious and an easy fix....
Not goodUnfortunately the motor on ours needs a rebuild so they said they will replace the car but from the next shipment
I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on this thread. I don’t want to cancel my order, but reliability in a brand new car is not something we should have to worry about. Not good
Might have to change my order to a 5 as this oil leek doesn't seem just to be on a few cars and is getting more serious.
You'd think after a number of test drives then sufficient mileage would have been reached for dealers to notice this on their demo models?I don't think they will no to be honest you have to do 100 miles or so to no if it leeks
.... which seems like the most sensible thing to do all round, hopefully this turns out a win win situation for all. (I'm the biggest VAG fan, but just couldn't justify the cost of the Cupra Born - but also have a look at )Unfortunately the motor on ours needs a rebuild so they said they will replace the car but from the next shipment
Yeh your probably right but if there parked on tarmac who knowsYou'd think after a number of test drives then sufficient mileage would have been reached for dealers to notice this on their demo models?

I agree we need more information and as quickly as possibleIt could be something really simple so we just need to wait until someone comes up with more information.
Alb, good morning, well it might not be variant specific but I’m sure it could help to know which if any variants are more at fault than others helping both owners and perhaps even MG Motors to assess what the problem might be because for them MG this could have an impact on sales that I’m sure off. It's already clear in my mind that this isn't variant specific.
Absolutely. Good reputations are built slowly and lost quickly. Are there any dealers on the forum with more information?Alb, good morning, well it might not be variant specific but I’m sure it could help to know which if any variants are more at fault than others helping both owners and perhaps even MG Motors to assess what the problem might be because for them MG this could have an impact on sales that I’m sure off.

Sorry if I missed it but did they give you a long term courtesy car in the meantime? Our dealer is going do checks on all cars before they are sold just to make sure there ok and our car is being replaced when the next lot arive as it doesn't seem to be a straight forward job which I was hoping it would be and just to say our dealer has been fantastic about all this
