When attempting to switch on seat heating using the ismart app I select AC and then HVAC. This should bring up the screen illustrated on page 74 of the Navi Manual. At the top of the screen illustrated under the heading Climate Control there is the option to select either air conditioner or warm up. The screen on my version of the app does not offer this choice. Instead there is a diagram of 2 seats and underneath a plus/minus choice for altering the air temperature. This works ok but I can do nothing with the seat diagram. However and wherever I tap the diagram nothing happens and I can't get through to the next screen illustrated on page 75 of the manual.
I have tried re installing the app but still come back to the same screens.
Everything else I have tried with the app has worked ok.
Any ideas or help would be welcome.

So, more updates:
1. I got a call back from the MG representative I spoke to yesterday and he explained to me that he spoke to a few people within and that the preheating heated seats control from the app was not possible and that video was posted in error. He was apologetic about it and thankful that we brought it to their notice.I mentioned about the activation video as well which a bit misleading with the configure button. MG have since then removed all videos of iSmart app from the website. I can't see them on the website or the YouTube channel either.

2. I called up Summit Garage and spoke to a sales rep and he mentioned to me that the video was shot under MG's direction and only MG may hold the answers to what was in the video. I got disconnected due to a bad phone line.

So bottom line is preheating heated seats control from the app may not be possible. One thing I do appreciate now is that MG showed good customer service by trying to reach out to me to explain/justify what was going on. I could sense no beating round the bush and it gives me more confidence into the future. They clearly listen and are willing to take steps. A callback was unexpected and I was pleasantly surprised. Early days for me but the vibes seem good.

The video was produced by MG some time ago and the iSmart app was at a late stage of development. The heated seat function was removed as part of a software update that MG were unaware of when the videos were produced. Not entirely sure of the technical reason for its removal, but at this stage, MG aren't aware of any plans for it to be included in any future updates.

The good news is that the car clearly can do it, but for some reason, maybe due to glitches/faults that need to be ironed out, has had to be removed.
See above from search (red emphasis mine)... I've not come across anything to suggest this function has been restored, unfortunately.

Thanks Nutnut. I read through all the relevant bits of the thread that you referenced and now have a much better understanding of my problem. I think N2STY has got the right explanation when he says that seat preheating could well flatten the 12v battery.

I want to hope they eventually find a way to make it work but if I were taking a wild guess, it would be that it'll be on the next new ZS when they change the platform. I only say that because they seem to have figured it out for the MG4.
