Technically the single-phase rating is 7.36kW (230V x 32A) ;)

Having the capability of 3-phase charging (when available) is the important point - the fact that only a tiny percentage of people in the UK will be able to 3-phase charge at home is irrelevant.
Correct me if I'm wrong but The MG4 3-phase charger is a 11 kW isn't it? so 3x 3.6 kW whereas the 22 kW as in the Zoe and IONIQ 5 is 3x 7.2 kW.

The Math is correct but having a 32 amp cable doesn't mean that the chargers and wall boxes are designed to operate at or deliver 7.36 kW. It is more likely it will be somewhere between 7 and 7.2 kW. Simerly back in the day when 16 amp home charging points were the norm they were variously called 3 kW or 3.6 kW and the cars were described as 3.6 but often would only charge at 3 kW.

Barry, putting maths to one side the LR MG4 can handle both single phase 7kw or 3 phase 11kw input with the correct cable. Home chargers 7kw, public 7kw all charge the car around that figure on a single phase whereas 11kw use the 3 phase. It's all in the inbuilt charger design how it merges these phases or otherwise

This is correct. That means LR versions can use 7/11/22kW charge points to achieve (in theory) 7/11/11kW charge rates - the limitation is in the onboard converter in the MG4.

Thanks for the clarification. It just isn't what they said back in August. Just like what was said about holding KERS preferences etc but that's another can of worms for another stream.

Yes, you are right that this isn’t what was said in August. There’s a lot of confusion and miscommunication and for all we know MG changed their minds on some of this too. We are all just doing our best to figure out what should be transparent information.
