After seeing the way Elon runs twitter my trust in his bean is very diminished I think so is many people
Interesting, seems the logic of the fact that the app is required to start the charge anyway, and that it's been done like that for years already with Tesla's themselves escaped the German authorities...Yes the app does show that but the requirements in Germany are that the charging post is required to display the KwHr delivered and not the app on your smartphone.
Yes, I think there's some man maths/logic going on with his decision given the charging network is already partly open to other cars in the UK and the rest will likely be following soon given Tesla's need to take in more coin.I do watch all of EVM’s videos and his EV knowledge is brilliant !.
I did pick up when he said, that his interest in Tesla over other manufacturers, would change IF Tesla opened up the Tesla super charging network to NON Tesla owners.
It is a massive strength to their car sales, why because it works !.
The Tesla car sales and the charging infrastructure are run as two completely different companies if I recall correctly ?.
Their cars are sold on better software quality and the charging network.
Build quality has improved but still has a margin to make up over some legacy makers.
There is no doubt in my mind, that their prices have been well over inflated, so a reduction in price is well overdue !.
This is very true, the government have been all over Tesla like a bad suit, trying to put their arm's up their backs to open up the super charger networks to other EV's.Yes, I think there's some man maths/logic going on with his decision given the charging network is already partly open to other cars in the UK and the rest will likely be following soon given Tesla's need to take in more coin.
Tesla is a software company making cars. MG is a car company making software. Unfortunately, neither are doing either very well. Here everyone talks to their own side, but if there is a choice between a Tesla or an Mg, then there is only one choice, a Tesla.
Why: better software and updates, better charging network, better performance and power, much more energy efficient, battery heater for fast charging, LFP battery on the standard range
and the build quality from china is perfect also from germany.
I think you're a thief of your wallet if you can buy a tesla for the same money.
The problem arises, when some of the people in your "100 long" queue starts leaving the queue because next door there is no queue.Absolutely you can do what you want as dealer if there is 100 long queue for your cars and you can't ship them fast enough
I dont think the price difference is very large, atleast not in Denmark.OK so MGZS long range starts at £32 000 from a dealer that is in every major town that people know of. I think people underestimate how important it is to have garage close by. If my car breaks I can ho into office and discuss in person rather than argue with someone on different continent.
There is also huge difference between prices. I could get a car lian for my zs I would not be able to get one for £10 000 more. This is still big difference.
It doesn't mater if tesla is better when "computer says no" to your bank loan
That's another point. At price parity yes people will pick tesla there is no doubt. But I am nor sure where are you all saying it being that. Quick Google shows it still at around £48 000 around £20 000 more than ZS am I missing something?
We dont have government grants, and even though EV's until a certain price is exempt from registration tax, you still need to add 25% VAT to any car sale. Not sure how much your base Tesla 3’s are selling for over there, but they are the equivalent of 36,491 pounds plus govt road taxes (about $1000) here - if they are less than that, well done - if more, you’ve still got some fat on the table to carve out.
Do you have a reference or article for this please?Don't be fooled the new Teslas are not the same lots of parts have been removed and some parts like brakes have been downgraded but there sticking plastic cover over them to give the appearance of performance parts if anything they have dropped the price but making more profit
You must have some insentive thing on there where you are.I dont think the price difference is very large, atleast not in Denmark.
The MG ZS EV i ordered cost ~40.500 pounds, this is for the Long range with a range of 275 miles.
The ZS EV was chosen with a color that adds price, and a trailer hitch, and if i add the "same" color to the M3 and add a trailer hitch i get a range of 305 miles for ~45.500
So the price difference between the MG ZS EV and the Model 3 is £5000 and those 5000 gives me longer range, better charging options and charging speed and double the allowed load on the trailer hitch.
So the M3 is 9% more expensive than the ZS EV here.
That price gap is quite small to be honest.
Right now i can buy a Tesla Model Y that is 1½ years old and with reasonable miles for quite a bit less than a new MG ZS EV.
Yes, it's a used car, but on the other hand, it is not very old, it has not done a million miles, i can get it "now" and i will even have a nice bit of money in my pocket after i buy it.
If I was looking for a car now and a 1 and 1/2 year Teska Y was going for mid £30ks with ok mileage, I would get it.The problem arises, when some of the people in your "100 long" queue starts leaving the queue because next door there is no queue.
You will lose sales, and at some point so many people might leave your queue or not stand in it in the first place, that YOU will start having to many cars, compared to the length of the queue.
I just read an article with the largest used car sales website in Denmark, they say that a lot of tesla owners trying to sell their cars, have already slashed their prices.

Makes me atleast consider, if i would be better off, just getting that, instead of waiting for the ZS EV, that might, might not arrive in 7 months. I have been unable to get ANY kind of indication, even if MG is ahead of, or behind schedule with the deliveries, so the August 7 delivery date might already be unrealistic right now and i don't know it. We might get it sooner, but as the dealer said
"China tells us VERY little about production goals and if they will be able to deliver any cars at all, we are only told shortly before we get them, that we are getting this many cars this month"
After this week's price adjustment you can now get a NEW Model Y for less than £45k. It may take a while for adjustments to filter through but I would expect an 18 month old Model Y with 15k miles on the clock to go for around £35k. I think there are people that would think that is a better option than a new ZSEV for a similar price.Cheapest used model Ys here are around £48k (with say 15k miles) whereas new ZSEV is £35k (or less if you ordered back in the sands of time!) ... Not even close for consideration (with my budget!)
Very interesting point. Hadn't thought of that. After this week's price adjustment you can now get a NEW Model Y for less than £45k. You should give the Y a try anyway. I would be interested in your comments. For me it has an unacceptably hard suspension set up that spoils the car.For me, the Tesla model 3 was let only by having a boot.
Model Y fits the bill right down to the ground.
That would be my choice all day.
The only problem is the price, unaffordable for my pocket unfortunately ?.
I remember sitting in a Tesla model 3 in a showroom in Florida ( while on holiday ) about 12 before they touched base in the U.K.You should give the Y a try anyway. I would be interested in your comments. For me it has an unacceptably hard suspension set up that spoils the car.
Yeah that's another point...No Android auto.Whist waiting for my ZS EV to arrive, I had a couple of test drives in a Tesla Y and decided against it, not for price reason but for the following reasons. Here is a copy of my feedback to the Tesla sales guy:
It's unlikely that I will be perusing the T model Y. I was comparing it to the new MGZSEV. Despite the Tesla having a few advantages over the MG (the charging network, range, seat comfort & towing capacity, large inside space) it also has a number of disadvantages (the poor sunroof, no android auto/apple carplay and the horrid inside - my wife called it a bat cave) so I will be placing an order for the MG
I bet she’s not a member on here!Yeah that's another point...No Android auto.
But honestly, the Tesla has google navigation built in, right ?
And it is possible to do radio streaming right ?
I use android auto for navigation and music streaming from the streaming service of my choice.
The tesla even comes with a proper dataplan, so that it does not need wireless hotspot from my phone, right ?
I also had "No front facing radar for crash mitigation and ACC" on my "Reasons to not want it" list, but i have seen conflicting reports, and some websites claims it is only cars sold in NA, that does not have it.
The Y, could do with a facelift as well, it is not really the prettiest car in the world either.
It is clear that they took a 3 and just pumped some more air into it to make the car bigger.
A bit like that thing my wife did....When she was 20, she was the model 3, slender and slimline, but at 30 and onwards, she had expanded to look more like the Y. Bigger body, much bigger boot![]()
At least she is not like a model X, with rear appendages that spread wide into the air for easy access....A bit like that thing my wife did....When she was 20, she was the model 3, slender and slimline, but at 30 and onwards, she had expanded to look more like the Y.
