Door sill protectors or not

Should I get door sill protectors not? And has anyone got any for there car.

Did you remove the grey covering over the lettering and edge?
It’s polished metal under them.
Tells you to remove the protective covering on the ali express ad

Oooops.....tried to remove but looked like it was well stuck on? Will try again later hopefully wont scratch to much.

You’ll need a good sharp finger nail or a plastic scraper ?
They do look better with the grey cover removed

Looks like mine are meant to be grey as its not a film that can be removed, its more like a paint.
tried to remove on back door one and defo not a protective film and has now spoilt the look.
What grey was removed came off in scrapings and the silver below same as rest of sill protector?
