My Ismart app sometimes does not connect to the gps

My Ismart app sometimes fails to connect . This seems to be an intermittent problem as at other times it connects ok. Has anyone any idea how to correct this and why does it happen intermittently?

The app in my Kona occasionally doesn't connect. Just yesterday it couldn't stop the charge. I think it might be to do with server connection as your phone doesn't directly connect to the car but goes through a server over the 4G network.

I've just unlocked and relocked the car and the app connected immediately. Not very convenient when wanting to turn the heating on from indoors early morning. Any ideas?

That worked for me last time but this time it’s still not updating. According to find my car, it’s in Brussels, not surrey!

Mine is also in Brussels using find my car and the Sat Nav says it is Southampton and not Salisbury. My App is updated to the latest issue. Any help would be welcome

Mine used to often not connect and it seemed if I unlocked and locked the car it then connected However there was an update and since then it connects every time and I get the message ISmart running in the background when I leave the IDmart app.

Thank you. My iSmart has not worked all day today but I just tried again tonight and it's now working. One of those mysterious things I guess!?

Hi all. Only had my MG a couple of months. The iSMART app has stopped working, error message unable to get the GPS location of the vehicle and the status checking is failed. Please try again later.

It’s been like this for 2 days. I have unbound and the re binder my vehicle. Checked Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity on phone and car.
Locked and unlocked car multiple times and still nothing

Anyone have any ideas?

The only other thing I would try is unbind and delete the app. Restart the phone and install the app again.

I had this problem soon after I got my car. After trying various "solutions" I resorted to the 10mm spanner and disconnected the 12v battery for 15 minutes or so. It worked and I've not had a problem since. The only slight downside is that you lose your cumulative trip data.

Mine still ain't working. Seemed fine (odd issue) until the recent update.

Hi, it's not you, it's the MG server, they need to modify their software as it is very unreliable. Don't waste your time unbinding it's not your fault. For charging use your charger app if MG is down. I hope this helped, Tom
