Anyone know how to set the usb to play an album at a time?

Page 15 of the Navigation and Infotainment ManualDid you ever get an answer to this question? I can't imagine I need a separate USB stick for every album I have. At present, I have about 40 albums on one stick but the MG4 just seems to pick songs to play at random.
Thanks, I tried all those things and still couldn't identify what I am trying to achieve.Page 15 of the Navigation and Infotainment Manual

Mine is the same , I would like to know if there's a solution to this too. Thanks, I tried all those things and still couldn't identify what I am trying to achieve.
The issue I have is that my USB Drive has all my Albums listed in separate folders, each folder has the name of the relevant Album and contains the various Album Tracks.
When I plug in the USB drive, rather than showing the folders (representing each CD) and allowing me to choose which Album I want to play the system just shows every single track from every folder, seemingly to play at random.
I'm sure there must be a simple solution but I just can't find it.
No I think it's a lost cause ?Did you ever get an answer to this question? I can't imagine I need a separate USB stick for every album I have. At present, I have about 40 albums on one stick but the MG4 just seems to pick songs to play at random.
??I think the point is why put half a feature in, I've had many digital music player's over the years but none this bad! I could transfer all my music to my phone but why should I, I've just purchased a usbc drive because I don't always want to plug my phone in but who wants to listen to 1200 tracks randomly ?

Noticed this a while ago. It seems to ignore folders and just play all tracks in alphabetical order - pretty useless/annoying in the modern world!
Yes but that would mean it just plays the same songs in the same order every time.Is there not an option for sequential play as well as random? Should be from what I’ve read
Really!!!You can't use USB for album play. The way I got all my owned MP3 songs to work in my MG4 is this (using Google Android):
1. Upload all your music to a YouTube Music account, drag and drop, through a browser on a PC or Mac (I have a Gmail account and uploaded 4000 odd songs). This may take several hours.
2. Now your catalog of songs in online, go get a spare smartphone and set up your Gmail account on it and then log in to your YouTube Music account via the app via the play store.
3. Find your uploaded songs and then download each album onto the smartphone. If you have enough storage space on the phone, you could download everything to it.
4.Then take the phone to the car, plug into the USB1 port. Android auto will then boot up. Follow instructions on phone.
5. Open YouTube music on the phone
6. Open YouTube Music via the car infotainment screen and then press 'downloads'
7. Your songs will appear and you can play them via album or shuffle or repeat. You can play them OFFLINE because you downloaded them first. This will save plenty of mobile data
You can leave the phone plugged into the car permanently and just treat it as a music "iPod".
Also note
Make sure the spare phone is not too old. Have it on maximum performance mode if it is too boost power.
Only install YouTube music. Don't put any unnecessary apps on it.
You can use the Android auto settings in the phone to run YouTube music automatically when turning on the car and whilst the screen is locked.
You can also use Google maps for navigation too but you'll need to set up a hotspot on your main phone and use the spare phone to connect to it.
Only negative is you can't use hands free with your main phone because the Bluetooth is being used by the old phone
Hi All (@Purclewan in particular) - I did some testing today in my Trophy as I have a USB stick with music organised into folders either for Albums or Artists (I have some sub folders too with different albums by the same artist as well). When I first opened the USB Music player the infotainment showed me a list of all the songs it had found on the stick and started playing. On closer inspection I noticed that the list on the left where the songs were listed was titled "Play All" so I tried touching the screen where it said that - to my delight I found that it is then possible to get a folder view of the USB stick and you can select the folder you want to play from (even the sub-folders) and that you can then choose from just the music in that folder. Thanks, I tried all those things and still couldn't identify what I am trying to achieve.

Quite honestly if I was working on the project I wouldn't have wasted much time on the ability of the media player to play tracks off a USB. With so many users using Car Play, Android Auto, Spotify, bluetooth to use phone as a media storage device etc etc it would be the lowest of the low priorityReally!!!
I think it would have helped in development if they had had more than 1 album on their memory stick. Would be funny but probably true?
That is very helpful, thank you.Hi All (@Purclewan in particular) - I did some testing today in my Trophy as I have a USB stick with music organised into folders either for Albums or Artists (I have some sub folders too with different albums by the same artist as well).
