Exciting timesJust had the call to say mine is ready for delivery but they are a bit chocker and it could be 2 weeks. Now waiting on a call back for a handover day as I'm going to jump on a train to Preston to collect it
Yep and to be honest I'd rather have my first few hours, or days if I decide to have a short trip to the lake district, with the car outside of Preston than in West London as I'd probably just be sitting in trafficExciting times
That's exactly what I did, was a few weeks before delivery was possible, so jumped on a train to Preston. Nice day out, oop north ?
They could have sourced an alternative car for you - I believe Octopus are pretty good on that front.Mines through Octopus salary sacrifice. 2 weeks ago it had been built but still at factory. Surprisingly last week it was in the UK so MG are still a bit naff with tracking...
I've been waiting 13 months so far. Was waiting on the ZS but jumped to the MG4 in Feb. Not had any luck with sourcing alternatives since the start, but you never know, could have happenedThey could have sourced an alternative car for you - I believe Octopus are pretty good on that front.
There are quite a few salary-sacrifice orders via work schemes (including mine). I questioned this with my supplier (Norton Way via Leaseplan) as there is exactly the car I ordered in stock at a dealer 2 miles from my work. It's hard to understand how it takes so long for some people. I just walked into a dealership, had a test drive, and drove out in exactly the car I wanted five days later. It's not as if there are so many combinations of options on this car.
To start with I think the SE SR's are made in larger batch numbers then the SE LR and then the Trophy in orange because that's what MG's market research told them would be the best sellers. But as has been proved time and time again the public don't follow market research and more of us than expected ordered the Trophy in anything but orange. It's hard to understand how it takes so long for some people. My reasoning for the LR was.I think it was sheer good luck that the car my dealer had waiting to sell was exactly what I wanted. I told him what I wanted, hoping he'd be able to get me one by the end of the summer, and hey presto!
In fact he started off by telling me that most people buy the Trophy, then when I told him I didn't really like the Trophy he said that most people go for the long range, and I had to work at it a bit, telling him that really, an extra 70 miles or so range wasn't worth £2,500 to me. (He had to confess that the SR would get me to Glasgow and back even in the depths of winter on a single charge - it's about 100 miles round trip.) Then I told him what colour I wanted, and Bingo!
He had it right there but he wasn't trying to sell it to me!
I think the SE SR is actually the sweet spot for economy and features, so in that sense I think MG were right, but as you say, what the public actually wants may be a different matter.
There wasn't any ships sailed on 19 March but the closest was the Themis which docked in Portbury Bristol 23rd April. Whichever ship it was on you should have had it by now.Hi, New member here, I have placed my order for a grey Trophy in mid December through salary sacrifice (Tusker). My date has been moved from April, to mud May and now to late June. They have confirmed the car has been shipped on 19th March, but not giving any more information. Is there a way to track back the ship somehow? Thanks for the help
