Motability & MG4

@CarlMG4 We are currently on British Gas, fixed tariff until July. Do you think it would be worth switching to Octopus? Our car on order will be around 12 weeks time.

I think it depends on your current rates, plus the market rates are due to come down allegedly from June, I think you'd be in a better position in June to make that decision, plus there may be more options by then.

Octopus are a good bet in the current climate though, with their intelligent Octopus tariff.

Hi I ordered it on 12-04-2023 I am picking it up on Tuesday 30-05-2023 through mobility , Chorley dealer was fantastic (Simon),I can't wait for it, any problems they will sort out,the service is excellent roll on Tuesday Mg4 rules.

Congratulations! Hope it all works well for you.

I'm a bit surprised to see all the stuff about MG not allowing dealers to keep unregistered new cars in stock, because that's exactly how I got mine, and I think others did too. (Nothing to do with Motability though.) I went in for a test drive, they had exactly what I wanted sitting ready to be prepped for sale, and I collected it five days later. It was unregistered until I bought it.

This is what happened to me after I took advice from Carl on this forum - to ring around and see which dealer had unregistered mg4s or were expecting delivery that they could save for me before registering.

Unfortunately, motability does not allow brand new registered cars to be leased to their eligible customers - it has to be unregistered.

From what my helpful MG dealer told me, they cannot keep unregistered cars on their forecourt for too long so it is a matter of luck and good timing to get one collected quickly under motability.

Also, I got my easee one 7kw home charger by motability via Vitrus Energy (EV charger installer) last week. It was a really pleasant experience, the electrician was very polite and competent asking where I wanted the ev charger installed etc.

The easee app is really good at managing charging too.

They don't allow dealers to order cars for stock cars apparently, this could change or could have already changed.

What happens is people order them and cancel before the car is delivered or don't go through with the sale once the car is actually delivered, so that car then becomes an unregistered stock car.

I got mine the same way.

Apparently they have to register them after so long though if they aren't sold.

My dealer said he was selling about two a week and was ordering ahead of his actual orders. He might have been pulling some sort of juggling trick.
