I have had my EV now for over a week, today I had 149miles on the clock, I did a 45mile journey now I have 95 miles left, my journey was in E mode, is this normal, thanks

I have had mine for a few weeks now and it slowly takes a while getting used to the range. Many thanks can affect it. Turning the heating on reduced the range by about 15 miles. If you use it for 10-15 minutes, then turn it off, the range goes back up but less as it’s already used some of the battery. Using the regen mode is different settings also affects the range mildly. How quickly you press the accelerator and power it forward also has an impact. Gentle acceleration doesn’t affect that much. I had a full range in ECO at 179 last week and decided to test the car in sports mode for a few miles. It was so much fun. Instant torque and power. I only did around 10 miles but when put back in ECO mode, it didn’t show 169, rather 157. Meaning I used a little more juice out of the battery. It’s all relative and fun to play around with. Once you have settled and understand your driving habits, your environment and how you wish to behave with the car, you will be more comfortable with it.

p.s, my experience to date is I will give the car 9/10. Best bit of kit I have driven. I previously had a Mercedes E Class and the MG is more fun. It’s not premium class, but for what you get and how it performs and looks, it’s wonderful. Set your expectations right and you won’t be disappointed.

I have just had my first service and they lent me a 20plate MG ZS. When I picked my ZS EV up this afternoon and drove home it was like slipping into a comfy armchair. So smooth. quiet and relaxing. I love my ZS EV.
Let’s not forget we have a fantastic little car for the money and even more so that’s it’s an EV.

Thanks for your reply, I am very happy with my MG, my last was a Ioniq Premium, I regurely got over 70miles to the gallon and that was terrific in sports mode. Its all down to practise and change in driving habits, this is my first electric and I have no regrets on my choice, the boss fully agrees.

And don’t forget cold weather is a range killer! Spring is on the way!

Thankyou I have a lot to learn, you have both been very helpful
Look at my miles per KWh today, that’s the warmer weather for you, travelling into London

Very impressive. I can't wait until Boris lets me out and about once more so I can try to achieve that sort of efficiency. Keep us updated with your trips as the weather gets warmer.
