Radar

Re. phantom braking ... for me it's most-prevalent when using ACC (like for others), but I can generally plan ahead and know when it is likely to happen (e.g. when passing a line of cars and you're edged into the oncoming lane, and there's a car coming towards you).
Unfortunately, I am unable to plan ahead, as the phantom breaking happens unexpectedly & without any warning. The next thing, we are suffering from whiplash and ?

You need to press the brake first. That puts the car into ready mode. Only then will it accept the command to turn off these functions.

If you have the front collision assist turned off then you will see, in yellow, a wee graphic of a car that has smashed into something on the top left of the driver's screen. Also if Lane Assist is off, that icon shows yellow. I go nowhere if Lane Assist isn't yellow.

But seriously, this is no joke. If the thing is activating as often as that there is a fault with the system, and a bad one. I have the identical car to yours and it has activated twice in ten weeks, both times for what was probably an understandable reason. Your dealer needs to address this.

Thank you ??

I have just had an update from the MG service department. They contacted MG in Birmingham last Friday and they have got back to the service bay saying that they need them to reprogram the radar on my car. They will then road test it and let me know.
I am glad that they are doing something, I only hope that this cures my problem, as I love the car and will be deeply disappointed if I have to hand it back.
