Scheduled charging

I’m new to EVs and had the MG4 Trophy for only a few weeks. I may well be doing something wrong but have twice set scheduled charging and it has failed to start whilst twice it has worked as expected.
I have seen the times ‘revert’ to a schedule I have not set (is there a default?) a couple of times.
I don’t know if setting the times in the car and then checking via the App later in the evening upsets the schedule or if I am doing something else to interfere with the settings. Once I tried to change to scheduled charge, after charging during the day for a couple of hours, without unplugging and reconnecting the charger.
Not sure if that should work work. It didn’t!
 
This is [ edit: was ] the ZS forum. I don't know how similar the ZS and MG4 charge scheduling menus are. Perhaps post in the MG4 forum? Or I can move the post if you want.

I keep sitting my scheduled charge using the app to midnight through to 5am, as I'm with British Gas.
Every few days, I check the app and discover it has defaulted back to 10pm through to 6am.
Anyone else have this?
I've found that happens if you switch off scheduled charging and then switch it back on later.

Now, I always check the set times to make sure it hasn't reset to default (22:00 - 06:00).

P.S. Also, if you use the car during a scheduled charge, and then plug it back in whilst still within the scheduled time, it does not charge. If you then start the charge manually, it doesn't switch off at the end of the scedule. Another bit of crap programming by MG.

OK. Sorry. I didn’t appreciate the difference. Please move the post if that’s more appropriate..

Are you using a wall charger or the granny lead?
If you are using a granny lead set the charging schedule before you plug anything in.
If you're using a wall charger set the schedule on the charger but not on the car or iSmart app otherwise things get confused and once again set it up before plugging the car in.
 
Also ensure that you don't have schedules set in the car and the EVSE otherwise they will cause problems, use one or the other.

I’m using a wall charger. I haven’t set that up to control charging yet. I did wonder if that would resolve the problem.
are these ‘conflicts’ common to all EVs or is this an MG issue?
