SOS system not working

If the e-call number is not selected in settings the call will not complete or initiate

Where can I find this setting?

From another thread (e-call):

If you have an MG4 Trophy, swipe the Home Screen left, tap 'Rescue call' and select your country.
Using iSmart, tap the bottom right button and tap the headphones top left. Tap the 'Switch Country' button.

On the Trophy I believe it can be set in car. For us you need to use the app:
Bottom right circular icon for settings.
Top left headphone icon.
Select country if no number present.

Mine was blank, but setting it didn't fix the problem.

What should happen? Does it patch you through to the local emergency services? Can the operator receiving the alert call the car to check? I've not got my car yet so someone has to press the button for me to find out ?

My daughter accidentally pressed it once and within seconds an operator was asking me if everything was ok. Was impressed.

Do you have more faith in them than the emergency services

The number was already in there.
