Hello community.
I had massive damage to my MG4. The airbags went off. The body was restored. The airbags have been restored, and the SRS module has been cleared. The car is not running at the moment. I have errors P1B07, P1B40 and a bunch of archive errors. And displayed me "Forward collision system fault", "EPS performance reduce", "Stability control fault", "Traction control fault", "Autohold Fault".

If you have any advice for me, I will be glad.
Thanks

If the airbags go in an EV, then usually a slow burn (usually 20 seconds after accident) pyro fuse activates. I suspect its inside the battery on the MG4.

Is this an insurance salvage that you're trying to get back on the road? If not then let your insurer/appointed garage deal with it?

Yes, i thought about it. Is it possible to check this without removing the battery? And the dashboard does not show that the battery is disconnected, as, for example, during a service disconnection.

Hi. This is not available for me now :-(

I think you may find some useful information in this thread.

I have errors P1B07, P1B40 and a bunch of archive errors

If you can post the list of active and archived DTC we can see what's up.
  • P1B07 is a faulty BMS indication
  • P1B40 is a generic fault in the HV system

If the hit was hard enough, it could be that the BMS got damaged or more probably one of wires leading to it.

The car was hit in the front right side. The car has been repaired. The car is not running at the moment. Daytime running lights and brake lights are constantly on. The car does not close.

P1F63 is manual service disconnect not plugged, are you sure it's in? Maybe it's faulty

P1E48 is 12V BMS bus voltage low, although this one may clear itself after a while.

To be honest everything points to the BMS or one of the circuits leading to it being damaged. I'd probably start by checking the msd and replacing it if needed

I disconnect the HV battery using the MSD and hear how the disconnector activated. New error now P1D68(16)

That's expected after a MSD removal, it clears after the DCDC converter feels the battery pack voltage ( > 220V ) for around 1 minute or so (e.g. car in READY mode in MSD connected).

You should probably try resetting the HV system. Follow this procedure:
  • Disconnect negative 12V battery terminal
  • Wait 5 minutes
  • Remove MSD
  • Wait 5 minutes
  • Re-insert MSD
  • Re-connect 12V negative terminal

After 40 power on cycles of the car the historical DTC record should clear itself, but no "live" DTC should show up.

Btw, it's kinda hard to diagnose this on a forum... you should probably bring your car to a good tecnichian with proper diag tools (MG ones are hard to come by)

edit: some of the "warning" lights on the driver display can be easily cleared by doing 2 full rotations of the steering wheel starting from the dead center position followed by a car "restart" (close doors, wait 5 mins, open doors). The car will loose its steering angle calibration data everytime 12V power is removed

Try something that works with my car. Turn off 12 v battery. Check all fuses to be sure these are OK. Take off cables from the airbag module (disconnect all). Turn on car battery again (you have 8 sec) jump in car and press the brake 3 times with only the driver's door open. It must go in ready mode and clear HV battery lamp.

I finally got to my car. I did it. The car did not start, but the errors changed, and the messages related to the steering wheel disappeared. Now it looks like the photo.

Interesting. I will try

It can go to ready only when the driver's door closed with the airbag module connected, and only when the driver's door is open with the airbag module disconected.

So, i did it. And press the brake 3 times. And after rotation of the steering wheel. I have result, i have only two errors.
