MG5 Long Range - Charging Issue

Hello all,

And thank you in advance for any help i may get!

I have a 6 month old MG5 Longrange, which with less than 50 miles on had to go into the garage for some alloy repairs after 2 were dented beyond repair going through a pot hole (luckily this is a company car!) Anyway the dealer took forever to get the new alloys, and 4 weeks later i received it back but it now will not charge on a Type 2 charger, only CCS. I have tried my own type 2, my friends known working one and of course some public ones and they all do the same. You plug in, it locks it in, goes to charge and then 2 seconds later displays an error on the display that "Charging Ceased"

I have it booked back into the garage, but they cant take it for about 10 days so was hoping somebody here may be able to suggest something.

The universal panacea is to disconnect the 12V battery to force a re-boot of the system. It certainly worked when mine refused to play nicely with the granny charger.

Always carry a 10mm spanner in the car.

Just on the off-chance the dealer set a charging limit/schedule make sure none is active.
