New Map 23Q4: Unable to install MD5 verification failure[Solved]

Looks like there's a new map available:

23Q4_EU_20240111021553_p


I've downloaded it 3 times tried extracting directly to USB(using windows, 7-zip and winzip), to my HDD and copying to USB, tried 4 different flash drives with exfat, NTFS or Fat32 filesystem and i always get MD5 verification failure.

I'm on R19 infotainment software version.

Has anyone been successful installing this version?

Does anyone knows how MD5 verification is done ? (Thinking on recalculating MD5 so it passes verification)

I assume it can be done with the md5sum utility, on Linux or Cygwin command line, or whatever the command line is for iOS:

$ md5sum --help
Usage: md5sum [OPTION]... [FILE]...
Print or check MD5 (128-bit) checksums.

The above is from Cygwin (more or less Linux for Windows). Not worth installing if you don't already have it. Ordinary Windows command line (cmd) does not have it. I'm sure that there is a friendly utility you can download for free.

There maybe a niche case of MD5 collision.

However the error appears 1 or two minutes after starting the verification, the content on the flash file is uncompressed and there is 120.000+files! 20+Gb it's impossible to read all that data in the timeframe the error appears

Inside zip file the is a file "file_verification" wich contains something very different from a MD5checksum, i suspect it's a public key.

If I download and test with 7zip it passes the zip verification

Mine doesn't reach that phase! Can you give more details on the flash drive used filesystem and infotainment version.

Windows 10 PC, 128GB USB3 formatted exFAT (gives 32GB usable) R26 infotainment,
Download paused a few times but just told it to carry on, extracted to hard drive (7Zip) and then copied to the USB, took about 30 mins to copy in car and upgrade maps.

Hope this helps.
 
i am having same problem with the MD5 verification failure. with Infotainment R17 software
maybe need that software updating first to R26 then try again

I did upgrade to 22Q1 Map ok so must be the head unit R17 firmware needs updating to the newest version

My dealer updated to R25, they said R26 was not available yet on my region(Portugal)
Will try later tonight and let you know how it goes.
 
Tried again on R25 and I'm still getting the MD5 error.... Will try with more flash drives and filesystems......
 
Just Downloaded it now and retried still same MD5 verification failure formatted ntfs and exfat no go the file must be bad online
 
Is there a changelog for these versions?
I'm in England
What do I get for updating?

I pushed my dealer to update to correct some bugs i had on R19 like brightness reset to full on some starts, asking for maintenance after 1200miles, added tow mode to disable rear park assist and other general improvements
 
Just add my software updated to R25 from R17 will try the 23Q4 update again
 
Well after getting the software updated from R17 to R25 it’s updating to 23Q4 done now running map 23Q4

Presumably they finally fixed the server files?

Or maybe you really need that update? Others please post your experiences, good or bad, along with your infotainment software version.
