Just charged my ZS EV and although it says 100% full has only indicated that I only have 298 k's range when previously was over 310 k' s range. Car is about 18 months old. Is this to be expected?

Try resetting both of the mileage trips back to zero.
What is your predicted range now ?.
Arh ….. That is more like what you expected, right ?.

I see you're in NZ and it's winter.

You can expect to get less range every winter and the range will return in summer :)

There are many threads and articles on the net of EV's suffering from reduced range in cold weather.

Simply put, the battery takes a while to warm up (like an IC engine) and until it warms up it does not perform as efficiently.

If you have a home charger, you can warm the cabin for 10mins before unplugging the charger. The cars heater is only a resistive element which is also very inefficient. Having AC on with heating is very power consuming.

GOM <> Charge capacity

This is like comparing miles to empty estimate in a ICE Car with fuel tank capacity.

It's just a guess it's doing based on previous consumption.

There's a reason they call it Guess O Meter, my winter range drops by 50 miles from 250 to 200.
