Does anyone else find the auto background mode for the infotainment system works inconsistently? Often when I get into the car at night I'm blinded by the screen coming on in daytime mode. This only seems to happen the first time I get into the car - if I subsequently turn the lights off or on the screen responds correctly. And if I toggle the auto lights the screen goes into night mode ok (my current workaround). It's almost like the infotainment system doesn't query the car when it's turned on but waits for the lights to change state to change mode. Is this peculiar to me or standard MG behaviour?

I wonder if it’s related to the delayed boot up sequence.
I find that if I first unlock the car, then fumble with the charger or open the boot to put something in there and then get into the drivers seat, the system appears to have done its thing and is ready for me.
But if I unlock the door and immediately sit down, about half the time it is still booting up.

The infotainment screen switches between dark and light mode depending on what the lights are doing. You can switch it to either permanent dark or light mode in the settings from the default auto.

You can also use voice command to darken or lighten

Sure, but what I'm saying is that I get in the car and the lights turn on but the infotainment screen stays bright. Only after that if I toggle the lights does the screen go into dark mode.

It could be. I have the same problem with Android Auto, if I plug in my phone before the infotainment system has booted. Generally this happens if I unlock the car using the button on the door handle. I'll check if it's the same for this.

It could also be related to the welcome lights setting. Which if turned on might be revealing a bug.
