having issues with car I've just bought, was told it was a 2024 model, and been having issues from day of purchase, is clearly not a 2024 model, car has the panoramic roof, so potentially a 2022 / 2023, car dealership are pretty much useless telling me it's a 2024 model, when it's not. Anyone able to tell me date of manufacture, and point me in the right direction, so that I can have some evidence to show it's not a 2024 model.

you should look into plastic MG wallet/ zip-pocket that came with the car, there is a sheet of A4 paper with manufacture date (usually about 4-6 months before the registration/sale) and quick guide booklet.

what issues?

Thanks, just found plastic wallet, manufacture date is 02/03/2023, so one year old before I purchased vehicle. Have had multiple software issues, binding not working, satnav not working, 12 volt battery constantly displaying error messages, rust in places, and mould all over the car, probably as a result of being stored incorrectly for nearly a year, I bought the car 4 months ago, and was told was manufactured in January 2024, and it's been in the garage for 1 month of that time.

There is I think 6 months period to refuse the new car if plagued with problems, check and see what your rights are. Mould is the best proof of incorrect storage, other bits could be fixed but when it all ads up ...

Consumer Rights Act (2015):

"For a period of 30 days after the sale, if the vehicle fails to meet any of the requirements detailed in the sections 'Make sure that the vehicle is of satisfactory quality' to 'Make sure that the vehicle corresponds with any description you give to it' above, the consumer can 'reject' it and receive a full refund."

The vehicle does not correspond to a description of being built in January 2024. Move quickly and return it.

I am willing to bet, that given the time the car has been sitting around, that the 12 volt battery is probably completely knackered by now !.
This is likely to be the main cause of all of the issues being thrown up in the car.
The sat nav not working is a common and usually a very easy 2 minute fix.
The mould and rust that you talk about, is a different matter altogether.
There must be a “back story” on this car ?.
Why and where has this car been stored all of this time, is the $99 question I guess.
It having the sky roof could be seen as a plus point to some people, as more recent models do not have this facility anymore.
It is fairly common to see brand new cars that have sat around, stored in car parks or even empty fields for long periods of time.
Even dealerships can have cars sitting around for months and months.
I wonder if the sky roof or one of the windows has been left open, when the car was in storage ?.
Is this the likely reason for the mould problems ?.
The cars future valuation is judged by its first date of registration and not its manufactured date.
Which does bring into question the screen price of the car back then and now ( if you get my drift ).

would be good to see some photos of that mould in the car. the problem is they could say it started after you bought the car as you wouldn't take it otherwise ...

on that subject, I wouldn't be surprised if I get mould in my car - from my old diesel where the automatic climate control was always on, to my ZS EV where I'm so paranoid about the battery that I hardly ever use it, there is probably far too much moisture in the cabin ...

This isn't completely out of the ordinary.

My car was not delivered from stock, but a factory order when there were huge delays.

Despite that, the build date was almost 6 months after delivery. The car had apparently stood in the sun a while as the 7 year red warranty sticker was a faded pink when it turned up.

If it had been stored correctly, the time of manufacture shouldn't have been too much of an issue.
