Anyone else get a creaky squeaky driver seat. Sounds like I'm driving a haunted house with creaky doors. ??

I had this … it was the seat belt ‘clicker’ (for want for a better word)… little bit of silicone grease around the metal bolt and all good

Could be the side of the seat rubbing on the centre console. A bit of plastic polish or stick a piece of sticky-backed felt stuck to the centre console where the seat rubs should cure it.

I have this issue, it sounds more like a creaky spring than anything rubbing. I can isolate it to either the back or seat when I'm in the car, but that hasn't helped me think of a solution.

I've had this too from day one, definitely creaking from the right side of my drivers seat, not a rubbing sound. I've never bothered to try and track it down, so would be interested if anything can define exactly where these creaks are coming from.

The seatbelt clicker can go up and down vertically (as you know) however, there is a hard stop on how far it can go up.

This hard stop is a little 90 deg bend of metal and when the seatbelt is at its highest point there is metal on metal contact.

When the seatbelt is then implied with horizontal forces (as in you go round a corner), the metal / metal squeaks.

Therefore, it wasn’t the bolt … but silicone grease still fixed. A better design is probably needed

Tracked down my creaking seat to where the material of the seat touches the plastic base.

To prove, just pull seat towards your leg and creaking stops.

I am out at the moment, but when I get home I will try some silicone spray or similar into the spot where the two materials meet.
I expect that to work........

A liberal application has produced............Silence.

I doubt it will last though, and may need a more permanent solution.

I was thinking a strip of black electrical tape between the two surfaces maybe....

Which of course won't now stick due to the silicone spray which will have to be thoroughly removed first. ?

Based on your findings, I'm thinking of some adhesive backed neoprene (that I've used in other areas) on the top of the hard plastic base.

Can I just add, that I have been out on my usual 40 mile round trip today and.............silence.

Im going to see how long this lasts before doing anything permanent.

I'm lucky enough to not be suffering from any other assorted rattles or noises in the cabin, but do have something in the boot area.
A knocking at low speed, in conjunction with a poor road surface that I am struggling to pin down.

We have a creaking noise coming from the seat base of the front passengers seat ? in our two year old ZS EV ( Gen2 ).
It is really annoying, because when the seat is occupied any moment causes the seat to creak !.
I am able to replicate the noise, by standing outside and then applying hand pressure to the centre of the seat cushion.
Therefore it must be something underneath / inside of the seat base.
Remove of the seat ? will be required for further investigation I think, at some point in time.

Check the rear seatbelt buckles aren't knocking on the plastic trim. I put a piece of self-adhesive black felt on the plastic trim where the buckles rest when not in use.

The other thing to try is to extend the tailgate rubber stops.

Creak in rear/boot

Good morning, My MG4 Trophy is 7 months old and has developed a creak in the rear/boot. This does not happen on smooth roads, just on uneven country lanes. It seems to be if the car flexes causes the creak. I have been all around the rear of the car pressing and prodding but everything...

A knocking at low speed, in conjunction with a poor road surface that I am struggling to pin down.

I have a low speed 'drumming' which is noticeable from 5-25mph (ish) over lumpy roads. It tends to fill the whole cabin so is difficult to locate. I did think it could be the headliner - if you tap that it's like a drum but could be something like the boot board or possibly floor pans which is now more prevalent due to the stiffer suspension.
