Thank you, that is really helpful.
She seems to like it very much! I hope she was sincere on her reviewLooks like we can expect the British press reviews to flood in now, here is the Electrifying review
Android Auto working fine. It was not the Cyberster, but the new cover of my phone which is half a mm to high for a tight connection. Did not realize on the other car as it is wireless AA and wireless charging.
Consumption is down to 19 kWh/100km including first day spirited driving.
Tomorrow we go for a first little road trip.
Still no wallbox. Everybody is too busy to install. "If you are in hurry look for someone else" , but at least the MG installer will come sooner or later.
Tested DC charging at PTT. Plugged in, scanned the charger, charging started, went shopping, stopped charging, all good, Invoice by SMS, heading off with confidence
@SunriseJak enjoy your handover and by the way I was approached by a guy yesterday. He was eager to tell me he ordered a Cyberster in Phuket on Saturday. He is waiting list number 200 for our little Island. He tries to get it from BKK somehow.
Again one more thing: parked inclined sideway and forward, no problem with the electric door
Hi, I'm also not sure about the Drive Lock. I familiarized myself with more functions today. I was rather dismayed to discover the "premium" Bose sound is pretty much not there. The car has speaker grills for 8 speakers. 3 on the top of the dash, 1 in each door, and 3 behind the seats. But only the door speakers are installed. Nothing else. For the price I would have expected all 8 speakers to be part of a complete sound system. In the manual with the sound system page is left blank. Got Android Auto working easily and its convenient. I'm enjoying driving the car and charged it last night on my Tesla wall box. All good. (the wall box that came with the car I don't need as I have 2 wall boxes now. One hooked up exclusively to a time of use meter and the other to my house distribution panel that has a full house solar system with batteries. I can make a few comments with my 2023 Tesla model 3 dual motor long range. I can share with you that there is no comparison. The Tesla is superior in most every way. I'll not go into details but its stark. No denying though the Cyberster as a beautiful top down roadster and is really fun! But refinement, driving dynamics, and software etc its generations behind the Tesla. Another little hassle is exiting the car. The car does not turn off automatically. And no off button. If you forget to lock the car it stays on. I did this last night. After playing with the menus I got out and went inside my house thinking the lights remain on for 30 seconds or so. But looking outside 20 minutes later the car was still on. Locking the car turns the car off. They should be to separate functions. When its in my own driveway I would prefer to have the car off but unlocked. I had to teach my car wash detailer also as he left the car on too this morning after cleaning off some wet cement but thats another story. Also if you get "in" the car and do not press the brake pedal and start playing with the various screens and controls the car is running off the 12 volt battery! If you play too long you can run the 12 volt battery dead and then you have some troubles. So its imperative even if you're in the car to check a few things to step on the brake which puts the car in "ready" mode and it then runs off the high voltage battery. After 44,000 kms on the Tesla its going to be hard adjustment when switching cars from time to time. Don't get me wrong I still appreciate the Cyberster for what it is and these items are kind of "nit picks". Just sharing the little details I'm finding. Cheers,Congratulation to your nice new car!
Maybe we meet one day.
I am 5ft 9 and have no problem with the seat. For me it is super comfortable and a good support in corners.
We are currently in Khao Lak doing our first road trip. Very smooth ride, I currently use comfort mode only as there is still more than enough power to just flow with the traffice. In normal daily road driving my consumption is down to 17 kwh and gives me plenty of range.
@SunriseJak, seems your dealer knows the car better. Can you find out what the DRIVE LOCK is doing exactly. I know it is distributing the power equally 50/50 to the wheels but at what speeds or driving modes exactly.
I translated the mini manual with google lense but could not find anything about drive lock.
By the way tire pressure is 37 psi. Much smoother after I reduced it from the 45 psi delivery pressure.
According to the manual there is a 12 V socket for the emergency tire pressure pump. Does not say where though. Will have a look in the trunk later.
Cheers and KEEP DRIVING
Hi, Yes I know where the "power off" button is in the menu but its not convenient to use as menu when simply getting out of the car routinely. When I disable all the safety assist items they come right back the next time I start the car. Ugh. I'm simply spoiled with the Tesla software. There is a power off switch.
Middle console, slide down to open the quick access menu.
There is the power off button and also quick access to disable all the lane assist and speed assist nonsense.
You can also power off the car with the key of course.
I always leave the quick access menu open. A/C is via the upper buttons anyway.
My AA is also working perfectly since I cut open my phone cover, just drove a couple of hundred kilometers yesterday and today. AA never disconnected. The driving is a pure pleasure.
Yes, you are so right. ? Regulations eventually will try and spoil all the fun. Thailand used to heavily tax horsepower but with the advent of EVs that seems to have eased up. Now at a restaurant and we parked out front. When we entered it was like a waiting line of people asking questions. When the Cyberster doors open people's Jaws drop. Pretty fun. I'm at about 300 km so far. The wind management with the top down and windows up is amazing. The screen between the seats seems to do its job well. Are you going to add any PPF film or ceramic coat? For me personaly the sound system is more than good enough and top down I will never switch on music anyway. For me it is not important in a roadster.
A friend was sitting in my car and he spontanesly said, wow what a good sound system, different prospectives.
With the "switched on" saftey features we have to live nowadays. In the EU it is law since 15th July 2024 and we are lucky we still get away with a disable button. Next generation of cars will not even allow this anymore. Manufacturers will not bother to make different set ups for different markets. In your next Tesla you will experience excactly the same set up.
Enjoy driving !
The glorious red tape!Worth watching the latest MGEVs podcast for all news about Cyberster in the UK.

Also having driven both the Trophy and GT versions of the Cyberster, Miles brings us his opinion of the imminently available sports soft top. UK...www.mgevs.com
A suggestion that customer cars are likely to arrive in Portbury early September, but delays with UK Government import processes![]()
Hi, Yep,,, I come to the same conclusion about PPF. I might still do the ceramic coat as its kind of a glorified wax job. Got the dealer to sort my sound system! Now its running on all 8 speakers and sounds awesome!I am not adding any film or coating to the Cyberster.
I have xpel self healing on my other sports car. It was very very expensive and I am still not confinced if it was the right choice. It definetly protected me of some stone chips, but the folie is damaged at these locations and is not self healing as advertised. To repair the folie is much more complicate and costly than to get a stone chip repainted. As well I have one stone chip anyway as a pepple went exactly between the two ends of the folie. I could not have been more unlucky.
The Cyberster is so well priced that the high cost of folie does not justify it.
The depreciation will be big anyway, and a folie will not stopp that.
The Cyberster is cheaper than a normal 3series BMW. The comparable roadster here in Thailand is the BMW Z4 40i M, which is more than double the price. (152,000 in US Dollar!!, Cyberster 70,000 USD)
My two cents only.
Great info on the iSmart. My wife was told they would help her in a week once the VIN was in the system. But TIT This Is Thailand! ?Happy you sorted out the speakers. I wanted to let you know today that you maybe just need to change the setting from driver only (default) to all speakers. Guys when you get your Cyberster check this setting, kind of weird to put it on driver only as default.
The ismart was working from day one, but I had to figure out on my own.
Make sure you have the iSmart App THAILAND, it is a red logo. The other ismart black logo is not working for the Cyberster in Thailand.
You maybe have to do a side load if it is not in the playstore. I had to do that as all my accounts said app not available in your country. If you use Apple and it is not showing up in the store, than you need to create another Thai Apple account WITH a Thai credit card behind.
The ismart setup is very easy and straight forward. Key in the VIN number and the engine number and your Thai phone number. You get an OTP, you confirm, log out and in again and the car shows up.
Keep on trying and let us know.
I am very happy with the app. Forgot my key going down to the garage, no problem pulled out my phone opened and started the car by app.
Wonderful top down drive today from the car wash directly into a monsoon squall. All dirty again. Enjoy your trip to BKK
