I just thought I'd show you the entry-level model available here in Ireland.
Basically, there are three trim levels, Essence, Excite, and Exclusive. The Excite is the same as the SE in the UK and the Exclusive is the same as the Throphy.
The Essence is still reasonably well equipped but misses out on the 16 inch alloys, keyless ignition, auto headlights, autofold mirrors, rear vents and rear USB.
The upholstery is the same as the Excite. It is about 2,000 less than the Excite, at around 23,500euro.

I don't like the wheels on the shown model.
They are a bit iffy alright.

Same here, but the good thing is that they are just wheel trims covering steel wheels, so they can easily and cheaply be changed or replaced when damaged.
True. I had wheel trims on my Dacia and the big advantage was they were reasonably priced if one needed replacing. Although, they looked way better than these.

MG3 Hybrid Plus Essence is the 'top' model here in NZ - looks the same trim/spec as the Pics, except we have different wheels. Picked up mine on Sunday. Mostly love it - beautiful on the road, excellent driving position, very comfortable. Largely a happy customer.

I've managed to turn off all the beeps except 1 - while underway no matter how light or heavy the traffic, a beep starts randomly for no apparent reason 27 to 30 times then stops for no apparent reason. Any thoughts please?

Also, my building's carpark is very tight, and the car just stops as I manoeuvre into my space. Even flooring the accelerator won't make it move, then suddenly it lurches ahead then stops. Even with all the 'assist' stuff turned off this still happens. Scary and dangerous. Any thoughts on this too please?

Of less bother to me: the iphone app doesn't recognise the binding QR code on the car screen. But I'll sort the above problems then come back to this one.

I'm not sure what's happening there. The throttle response can be a bit different when hev is in operation compared to EV, but not significantly so. Some people find it easier to turn brake regeneration down to one for manouvering. In that case it's better to set it up on one of the two star buttons on the steering wheel. You should find it easy to manoeuvre when you get used to the touch of the pedal. If it doesn't, I'd check with your dealer in case there is a fault. Some of the more technical members might have a more detailed answer for you.

I found it beeped leading up to a speed camera and then stopped once I passed it. It can be tweaked in the Sat nav settings.
Thank you - that's worked perfectly.

Thank you - maybe I need more practice! And also, bringing the sales guy to the car park in question on Friday, and I'll post the anticipated solution after that.

These are the wheels on our Essence models in NZ.

They are fitted to the mid range 'Excite' (SE) level here as well as the top range 'Exclusive' (Trophy) model which is similar to the NZ 'Essence' minus the sun roof.
