Ease of access for older people?

We're both pensioners & have always driven SUV type cars for ease of access in & out but don't need a large car anymore , is the MG3 HYBRID far too low for us ?.
I would appreciate any opinion especially from the over 65's !

That's ok, I don't mind answering you 3 times Larchie67, and I certainly won't ignore you. It comes to us all. Naughty Mr MG Clive, be nice. Larchie67 I am 68 and I don't have any problem getting in and out of the car. Not sure what will happen when I'm 70.

Ha ha, sorry about that @Lachie67, lol. If I may answer as before, myself and the Mrs are both over 60 and we find it easier to get in and out of than our previous Polo, and the seats are very comfy.

Good morning Lachie. We're both 83, I'm the driver and I like the raised driving seat. this means my head just brushes the u/s of the door opening. I'm 5'6". The passenger seat is fixed and my wife gets in and out ok, except for a bit of arthritic groaning. The car is very comfortable, quiet and smooth. If, like us, you do most of your driving around town, you will appreciate the many miles you get per gallon and the way the car handles the potholes. Happy motoring.

My wife was my main concern & l like your description as ' arthritic groaning ', funny enough she doesn't do it if she drives ......
I'd decided to downsize & like as yourselves it's mainly short trips out etc , I just couldn't find the courage to change until I test drove it but even then its a bit like life really ' its easier to go up in the world than downwards ' .

Hi ,

Went for another look at the MG3 TROPHY & confirm that the front passenger seat is pretty good height , very pleased.

Also looked at the new HS TROPHY, stunning car inside especially, it's more like the ' Starship Enterprise Beam me up Scotty ' lol...... but too large for my needs now .

Out this week is a new ZS Hybrid which is the mid size SUV that I'll check & let you know .

Hi Ann , it's a brand new ZS using the hybrid engine out of the MG3 HYBRID.
It's officially released today according to my local dealer he will have prices & pics , I didn't much like the old
ZS but what I've seen on You Tube the new one is more appealing , interesting eh ?.

My wife and I are in our late 70s and we drive an MG ZS hatch back and find it very easy for access

I think you’d be best off with the ZS.

I love mine and it’s super highish.

I am 84 and have had a ZS for nearly 3 years. My arthritis means I have to "swing" myself into the drivers seat but the roof rails come in useful there. I had the experience of being a passenger in a Mazda 2 nights ago. That was really quite difficult compared to the ZS EV in fact my ZS is one of the easiest cars to get in and out of that I have tried recently. If you want a really bad one my son's Honda hybrid sports car is a REAL struggle!!!

Hi My wfe and are both in our 70s and have no problems getting in or out of our MG3 Hybrid and have been to scotland on holiday so a long trip from Darlington to inverness. 329 Miles very comfortable ride.
